Terrible service, they messed up my order and then blamed me and then had the nerve to charge me full price for the food I didn't order. Bartender was a total jerk and just wasn't listening when I ordered. I am a huge tipper normally and it takes a lot for me to leave a small tip. Being a nice guy I couldn't bring myself to leave nothing but i should have. Also this place is not a brewing co. they have beers on tap. Why are they called a Brewing co? All they are brewing is wanker bartenders. stay away. more

Worst service we've ever had. We are locals but this was the first visit since the renovation. The crowd was drunk and rude and the wait staff worse. When the bartender finally got to us, my husband asked for his beer in a glass rather than the plastic cups going around. He was told ""NO NO NO"". Really?! They were serving water in glasses so why not a beer? When we asked about this, our bartender, DAN got in my husbands face, berated him and yelled ""Do you want to speak to the manager?"" We left. And yes, actually I would like to speak to your manager and have you fired DAN. If you can't handle customer service, get a new job. We will be sure to tell our friends and our neighbors to stay away from this lousy place and go to SIMMZY's up the block. Better service, better food, much classier atmosphere. This is the only bar in Manhattan Beach where they put as much emphasis on the food as they do their beer. Their recent remodel updated their look and gave it a more hip feeling. The booths are a little cramped, but the food and beer make up for it. If you're looking for an outstanding gastropub, in a town filled with numerous restaurants, I highly recommend this one. I am sick of going to bars where the food is gross, greasy, and boring. If an ice cold beer, burger and sweet potato fries sound good to you, then this is the place for you. I WENT TO THE MANHATTAN BEACH BREW CO, JUST THIS PAST THURSDAY AND HAD A GREAT TIME. MY SISTER AND I LOVED THE FOOD AND THE ATMOSPHERE. I ADMIT I WAS A LITTLE HESITANT ON EATING THERE BECAUSE THERE WAS HARDLY ANYONE IN THEIR, BUT AFTER WE SAT DOWN TO THE COMFY BOOTHS WE WERE AT EASE. I THINK MAYBE THERE WAS NO ONE IN THERE BECAUSE IT WAS AROUND 345PM, USUALLY SLOW EVERYWHERE AROUND THAT TIME. SO THE BARTENDER CAME OVER LESS THAN A MINUTE AFTER WE SAT, WHICH WAS GREAT CAUSE I HATE TO WAIT TO LONG. HE WAS VERY FRIENDLY AS WE ORDERED TWO MICRO-BREWS. I HAD A BEACH BLONDE, VERY TASTY, AND MY SISTER HAD A IPA , WHICH SHE THOUGHT WAS FANTASTIC. WE ORDERED SPIN ARTICHOKE DIP WHICH WAS GREAT, THE CHIPS THEY SERVED WITH IT WERE HOT AND FRESH. WE ORDERED ANOTHER ROUND OF BEERS, AND THEN OREDERED OUR FOOD, MIGHT I ADD HUGE PORTIONS. BURGER WITH MUSHROOMS AND CHESSE W/ VEGGIES FOR MY SIDE. VERY TASTY, EXCEPT THE BUNN WAS A LITTLE SOGGY. Not only did they ruin the open, beach atmosphere with the new booths and decor that attempts to be upscale, they have destroyed the menu. I used to go at least 1-2x per week, where they knew my order and I knew the bartenders and their kids. Now, the waitstaff could care less about the patrons, you CANNOT get a salad with your burger, and you can't see anyone else in the bar because the booths are too high (I'm going to keep my mouth shut on the horrible style and lack of comfort). This used to be one of my favorite places to go as it was the closest thing to a ""real sit down pub"" in the area that served decent food. But the recent renovation absolutely destroyed the atmosphere and the change in menu was a bummer as well. The new booths are not only completely uncomfortable and have you sitting practically on top of the table, but they're also so high you can't see what's going on around you and what kills and atmosphere in a bar more than not being able to see the other people coming and going or see a friend walk in. The music is enjoyable, its dark, there's really good beer. Bring your own party since the place is small and unless you sit at the bar, you may get thirsty. Appetizers are a bit on the trendy side for price, but each one will feed two. Great for after work to unwind, watch the game, or amaze yourself at the huge aging tanks behind the bar. ""The Brew Co"" as I used to call it was one of my favorite restaurants in the South Bay. Unfortunately, the owner has diverted way too much attention to his restaurant next door. The Hickory Burger used to be my favorite burger of all time and now youre lucky to get a pre-made patty. Also, you will notice other such cut backs through out the menu after you order. Also, if you thought that everyone was friendly at the beach, youre quite wrong! They waitresses that work here are so unfriendly theyll bring your night down! Well its at least the best I've been to! 1st- the beers here are tremendous. The Pier Pale Ale is some of the best pale ale I've ever had. The food is awesome as well. Traditional beer/bar food is the selection, but the quality is just outstanding. Hamburgers are among the best in LA (and I've had a lot). Food is always perfectly prepared and piping hot. the only problem (just being picky) is the tables are seat yourself and there is no system to determine who is 1st in line when there is a wait. A couple of times we felt we were cheated by people who came after us. MB Brewing Co. is a great place for good micro brew beers and food. It's also located steps from the beach. Their micro brews are all good ranging from light to dark. They also have a great menu that includes salads, sandwiches and pizza. If you like ""hot"" stuff, try the hot wings. MB Brewing Co. is also a cool place to watch sports on their big screen. more
