The cats you saw running around are from the humane society. We clean the litter boxes 2x per day. They are rescued animals that need homes. Im sorry that you have such a strong dislike for animals that need to find good homes and that you dont understand what we do. I also suspect you came early in the am when we were still doing our morning cleaning. The fact that we save their lives & in the process donate time and supplies to keep them clean and happy, Ithink sets us apart from other stores. more

An old and smelly litter box smell hits you the minute you walk in the door. Those who are allergic to cats beware - there are about a million cats running around. I didn't know this before my first visit and I never will again be shopping here because of all the cats. more

best place for fish 4/1/2007

i got my dwarf puffer from here. they had some african dwarf frogs in the same tank as the puffer, which i don't agree with, as puffers can be nippy, and adf are easily stressed. no many people know the correct means to care for adfs though so i don't blame them. as far as fish go they had a great selection with a staff that knew their stuff. mike b really knows his species well, i can do all the chemical stuff, but he's like an encyclopedia when it comes to species requirements. the small animal department and reptiles are not kept very clean though. i think that they simply don't have anyone who specializes in that area though. more

WOW, great store! 6/25/2006

Wow, this store was amazing! They really know their stuff for fish and other pets too. They had the best selection of fish I have ever seen in a pet store. The person who helped me taught me a lot and I thought of myself as somewhat of an expert before I went in there. They have a great selection of treats, toys and food for my Labrador. The owner taught me a lot about nutrition for my dog. The store was clean and didn't smell like a pet store. Hands down the best pet shop in Manhattan. Highly recommend. more

Fish, Fish, Fish! 8/26/2005

This place has a crazy selection of fish, the most varieties in Manhattan by far! It is fun just to shop around in this store and see the different types of fish they have. They also carry other pet accessories such as small animal supplies and dog food. You can bring your pets in here, but watch out for the store cat, it bopped my all too interested Chiuahua. more

Cool Fish! 8/15/2005

This store stocks an amazing amount of aquarium supplies, freshwater and salt water fish and outdoor ponds. They also carry discounted dog and cat food as well as small animals such as rabbits and hamsters and their supplies. The people who work here really know a great deal about fish and will help with everything you need to know to start an aquarium of your own. more
