This place definitely has soul. The sandwiches are unpretentious, huge and inexpensive and the staff is super friendly. It is full of regular customers, including lots of police and fire people, but the wait is never long because you get the impression that the staff have all been there for years and really know what they are doing. I have had the cold cut, turkey/cheese and chicken salad subs, on both hard and soft rolls, all wonderful, but I'll admit the chicken salad was my least favorite, you will like it if you like dark meat though. I love the hot pepper option on the sandwiches. You get iceberg lettuce on your sandwich but it is crisp and fresh. It is nice to know places like this still exist.
Pros: Amazing fresh bread and hand sliced meats
Cons: cash only
