Best

My favorite place! I could on and on about why they are awesome but in the end, it comes down to seeing for yourself. All I can say is, you won't be disappointed.

Worst

While the pizza has potential (fresh basil really comes through), the overall experience was horrible. For a party of four, 2 1/2 hours to get two pizzas and two appetizers. Fro...

Very Nice! 1/25/2012

Very nice! Comfortable, friendly, excellent little covered patio seating area, and the food is good too! We were greeted and seated immediately when we stopped in for a late lunch last Saturday. My husband and I had just returned from a trip to Sicily less than a month ago so we were somewhat prepared to be disappointed, gratefully I was not! They had an extensive drink menu and wine selection however I had to have a San Pellegrino Limonata, yum! I was quite excited to see this on the menu, yeah so you can buy it at WholeFoods but rarely do you get it at a restaurant, even if it is an Italian one! We had a lovely antipasti, Courgette Fritters, a flavor delight! more

Everything Was Perfect 1/18/2012

I had the Eggplant Parmesan and seriously felt the entree envy at the table! Super good sauce, perfect eggplant, and lovely veggies! There was also a side of pasta but I didn't even taste it because everything else was so much more inviting, I am small, I can only eat so much, I had to prioritize! Also must note that the place was really clean and I loved our seat on the patio, it rained and we didn't have to move inside, mmm, eating lovely food and smelling fresh rain, ah, I love Colorado, plus I had a fantastic view, pretty flowers and some fun people watching! more

This place just oozes charm and real 1/13/2012

This place just oozes charm and real love for good food, real food, fresh food, good people and comfortable dining. My friend and I stopped in here, mid-way between lunch and happy hour, for a quick bite after soaking at the hot springs. We were made to feel so welcome, even though we were the tail end of the lunch crowd. The food here is so fresh: we split a huge bowl of pasta fagioli soup that had a beautiful, crisp spice to it as a result of pepperoncinis. The broth was delicious and the beans were cooked perfectly. I hogged the entire order of garlic bread because it was made exactly as I would make it at home - not skimping on the real butter and garlic on light, fresh bread. Mangia! Based on this, I absolutely can't wait to go back. more

Horrible Service, bad food 10/1/2011

Definitely not worth it! We were in ID. Spgs. and it smelled good, so we stopped. It was a very bad decision. We waited over 45 minutes for our food and were actually in the process of walking out and going to Beau Joe's when someone showed up with food. However, they only had half of my husband's order, my daughter's order and nothing for my son and I. The waiter stopped by and asked if everything is ok, right after that. He didn't seem to realize that half the table had no food, and when we pointed it out to him, looked through his order book like he didn't even believe we had ordered! My husband pointed out that we had been waiting over 45 minutes and all the waiter said was that he wasn't holding our food back, it was the kitchen. No apologies. After all that wait, the food wasn't even very good. My soup was so spicy that I couldn't even taste it, the tomato sauce was very bland and the pizza was worse than a Domino's or something similar. People from another table were asking us about how long we had to wait and we encouraged them to go to Beau Joe's instead. On our way out, I had to restrain myself from telling people waiting for a table that they should leave. This place is AWFUL! If I could give no stars I would! more

Save your money 2/14/2011

This place was definitely not worth it. We had much better food, service, and atmosphere at Beu Joes. The staff at Mangia were not professional and extremely unfiendly - not what you would expect in a mountain town. The wait, quality, quantity, and cost made this restaurant a bad choice. I really can't believe they are still in business! more

RUDE & CRUDE 2/13/2011

6 of us stopped in for what we thought would be a nice dinner. what we got instead was horrible service by a very rude wait staff and a very long wait for our food. when i complained the owner came to our table and threatened to call the police if we didn't leave. oh and the best part is that we had to pay for our entire meal which they so thoughtfully put into to go containers for us since it still wasn't at our table after an hour and a half. This guy is a real ass in my humble opinion. I will NEVER step foot into this place again. more

Not worth it 8/9/2010

We stopped in for a late lunch on a week day afternoon and the place was deserted. We ordered off the lunch menu for myself and wife and the kids got the pizza lunch. The Caesar salad was uninspired: lettuce, diced tomatoes and cheese with a lonely crouton on the side. Oh yeah it had an anchovy fillet. I had the eggplant parm and my wife the gnocchi. The eggplant param tasted like dried Italian herbs, the pasta sauce with the spag was watery and it came with veggies. Veggies, really? the gnocchi was in the watery tomato sauce. It should have been called gnocchi soup. Service sucked, food overpriced. The kids pizza was good looking and they liked it. But they like McDonalds chicken nuggets too.. more

Truly disappointing.... 3/29/2010

We've been here a number of times and while the decor and patio are very inviting, the overall experience is disappointing. For a Saturday lunch, we ordered two side salads, two sandwiches, and two cokes, and the tab was $55 including tip. And while it was tasty, it wasn't anywhere near worth that kind of money. One of their $9 salads is mostly lettuce with just a light sprinkling of cheese and other goodies -- no where near a good value. It takes forever to get your bread. I know they bake it fresh for each table, but when you don't get it until way into your meal....well, it just makes no sense. Relative to other restaurants in the area....this is just absurdly overpriced and the food is about average. Don't fall for the cute exterior and decor -- the end result just doesn't measure up to the appearance. Pros: decor Cons: way overpriced.. more

Incredible calamari! awesome huge martinis very good ambiance 10/2/2006

My boyfriend and I found this place when we were taking a drive in the mountains. We were just looking for a nice patio to sit on with something small to eat and a drink. We ended up staying for dinner. It smelled sooo good! I had a monsterous french martini with calamari to start. My boyfriend had a beer I never heard of called Holy Grail. He loved it(I'm not a beer drinker). He had the veal saltimbocca. It was the most amazing thing I've ever tasted!! I was lucky to get a bite. I had the chicken marsala, it was tender and so good. I wish we had saved room for dessert. Our server was so sweet and timely. They encouraged us to stay and hang out and not rush out the door after eating even though they were starting to get busy. The owner came over and said hello and asked if everything was ok. That was great! We will definitly go back there again! this time i'm saving room for dessert. Pros: great service, killer ambiance, very fair prices Cons: can't think of any! more
