Mandarin Garden House

Went with family for lunch. Manager is rude. Waiter attending us was careless. Buffet was not worth of the money they charge. Completely disappointed. Will not visit the restaurant again. Not worth of single star in the rating too. Do not waste your money folks. more

I can't believe the negative reviews I'm reading! This place has great food, and the dinner for two cannot be beat, and the price is reasonable. This is not take-out fast food chinese, go to Hot Wok if you want cheap chinese food! This is good food in a nice restaurant, so the price should be expected to be more. I have been going here for years, and the management is not rude, she just isn't that much of a smiler. She has a great sense of humor, and this establishment has been family owned and operated for years. The mongolian beef cannot be beat, and I always get it with the sizzling chicken in the dinner for two instead of the sweet and sour shrimp. And they always offer hot tea. The lunch menu is great, usually around $6. Love this place! more

We rarely eat out because we are very picky and like home cooked meals, but we eat here 2 times a month at least. Pros: Always good more

So, I cannot get enough of the Mongolian Beef here. I am telling you it is so amazing. However, when yo order it for carryout, you definitely get less than if you eat in. And the woman who is typically at the front counter, you'll know exactly who I'm talking about, is really rude; pretty much all the time. She may be sort of nice if you have small cute children with you. Apparently she does like children. So, if you can put her bad attitude aside, the food is really very good. Pretty pricey, but worth it on occasion. more

I usually don't take the time to write reviews,however I felt this one necessary. Mandarin Garden House located in Normal IL. is very expensive,their chicken fried rice is pale in color,no flavor,only a couple pieces of chicken,mostly peas & carrots per carton.Crab Rangoon... virtually filled with air!!! very little cream cheese & crab meat! Egg rolls were a joke...looked as though the cook cut them in half!!! The Mandarin House Establishment ought to visit Wing Wa Restaurant located in Palatine Illinois,they would definitely close their doors.Shame On you Mandarin House Restaurant,with this economy,families don't eat out to often,but when they do there counting on good food, normal portions and a fair price,NOT INFLATED!!! Cons: EXPENSIVE,SMALL PORTIONS, NO FLAVOR! more

I don't usually take the time to write reviews,however,this needs to be stated.I placed a carry out order at Mandarin Garden Restaurant,I ordered 2 large Chicken Fried rice,2 orders of Crab Rangoon & 2 orders of egg rolls,total cost $38.78.My husband went in and paid and asked for extra soy sauce,the lady gave him 2,he had to ask again for more,she the gave him 2.The Chicken fried rice had very little chicken and was flavorless, the crab Rangoon had virtually no cream cheese or crab meat,they were just filled with air!!! The egg rolls looked as though someone had cut them in half ( I'm not kidding!). Take my advice, if you're going to spend that kind of money on Chinese food,stay away from Mandarin Garden Restaurant!!! Very Expensive,not very good,very small portions! more

Not a huge fan of this establishment. Food wasn't very good, and service was kind of rude the few times we have been here. If looking for a sit down Chinese place, keep looking. more

It does sound like it is not the same old service. This used to be one of my favorite chinese restaurants in town. After last night's experience I will twink thrice before I choose/recommend this place. Pros: Good Food Cons: Declining Customer Service more
