Worst service you will EVER receive! 3/14/2010

I've been to this place 3 times with my friend from Peru and everytime I've been treated like crap. Not sure why I kept going back, but never again. Last night was the last straw for me. I entered the establishment with two friends around 7:15 on Sunday night. The place was about 75% full. There were three tables available. Two of the tables were two seaters and the other a four person booth. We immediately knew that the booth was the only option but we stood there waiting for the approval of the lady behind the counter. The lady behind the counter literally stared us down like we had done something wrong. She stood there for a good minute just looking at us then finally she sighed and told us to sit in the booth. Well we came to find out that she was our waitress and this was her section. Obviously she was upset that the only place to sit in the joint was in her section. We knew what we wanted drinks and all ahead of time but as soon as we sat down she layed down the menus and stormed away before we could say anything. When she came back I made it very simple for her. I told her I wanted french fries for an appetizer, and number 34 and 37 on the menu. She had me repeat the order a few times because her english was bad and she seemed frustrated. I figured just listing the numbers that were listed next to the items would make it very simple, guess not. At around 8:15 my friends dish arrived and then the next dish arrived 5 minutes later. I was still waiting for my dish and I still hadn't gotten my french fries yet. How long does it take to make french fries? So it had taken about 50 minutes at this point. And then guess what? When my order arrived it was wrong. So I went up to her and told her that she had made a mistake. She stood there and mulled around not looking me in the eyes just staring at the food like I was going to change my mind and just take what had been given to me. She didn't apologize or anything just stood there. Then finally she grabbed it and took it away. I sat back down and 10 minutes later the food finally arrived. Also each time the food was delivered it was brought to us by the chef from the back, the waitress never brought us anything, nor did she check on refills. By this point our drinks were empty and the cashier saw this and ran over and got us refills. Wow just horrible. One of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. I used to be a food server for 6 years so I know good, mediocre, and rotten service when I see it. This ranks below rotten. I still left a 10% tip, I should have stiffed her completely, but I don't have that cold a heart. I normally tip from 20% to 30%. Stay away from this place at all costs. The food is not even that good. The waitress name is Christina, I wouldn't be suprised if she was the owners wife or something because she looked completely out of place and seemed very stuck up and too good for the position. My recommendation for her would be to quit immediately so someone who really needs a job can get in there and make some good cash. I'm contacting the owner tomorrow to give them an ear full. My friend from Peru told me he could make all of these dishes better and more authentic. I think I'll take him up on this offer. Cons: Horrible service, food takes forever to get to table! more

Bad food & awful service 1/31/2010

I knew it was a hole in the wall, but what a hole. The staff was not pleasant at all. There were too many customers and only three servers. They looked overwhelmed. The food took forever to come. This is the first time I try Peruvian food and it will be the last. French fries and shrimp? Crazy. I did not appreciate the high calorie fatty food. I tried it and didn't like it. Next I will try Argentian food. I hope it is better. Cons: Fatty food and rude staff more

Great Peruvian Seafood and Steak Restaurant. Star! Star! Star! Star! Star! 5 STARS 12/31/2008

Mamita's was fantastic. Great food, great prices, and the service was good also. Expect a bit of wait if the restaurant is full, and it typically is during the rush hour. This is an authentic Latin America restaurant so if you are a fan of one of the main stream Latin Food chain restaurants and are expecting to get your food on the clock because it was microwaved and was prepackaged from a factory in the middle of the dessert then this place is not for you. Excellent Talapia fish breaded and deep fried, muscle soup, calamari, steak and more. Authentic is the thing to remember here, think as if you were in Peru. The service is great in my opinion in fact I loved watching the employees sweating and running to take care of everyone, it simply added to the atmosphere. Remember you go to a restaurant for the food and Mamita's knows what they are doing. Further the employees were so sweet, so authentic themselves. I love this place and try to frequent it as often as possible. I take my family and friends there, we even did a mother's day party at Mamita's Peruvian Restaurant. Pros: Food & Prices Cons: Expect a bit of a wait during busy times more

Lousy service and bad attitude. Avoid. 8/17/2007

Our group of 3 ordered our food and it did not come in 45 minutes. We politely asked when our lunch would be ready. The waitress couldn't tell us when it would be ready and told us to call ahead next time. We left. There will not be a ""next time"" and we'll never go back. LOUSY customer service and extremely rude staff. Cons: Lousy service more
