Flights to Europe, now departing from Norcross 6/21/2009

Mambo Italiano has the best pizza (outside Europe and NY)! The way they make their pizza is so authentic that I was just blown away! That's exactly what I had when I toured the Mediteranean. They use the best sausage, not just some ground up piece like a Pappa John or Pizza Hut pizza. The desserts are to die for!! There's the Million Dollar Cake, the Key Lime Pie, the Death By Chocolate; so many good ones it's hard to pick a favorite. If you've been to Mediteranean Europe and yearn to go back, come here and at least get a taste of that cuisine! Pros: pizza and dessert selection Cons: ... more

Excellent pizza 3/7/2009

Recently ate dinner at the Sandy Springs location and was pleasantly surprised. Service was prompt and attentive. Atmosphere is nice for a cozy date-night. The menu has a nice selection of pasta and pizza....we had the individual size pizza and I must say the crust was excellent! Thin, crispy crust with a few air ""bubbles"" thrown in there. Ingredients were high quality and it had a nice flavor. I believe they are baked in a wood fire oven, so the crust has a nice ""smokey"" taste. If you're looking for a great place to find pizza, this is the place. Pros: Great pizza, service Cons: none so far more

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE 4/25/2008

HORRIBLE. do not go for lunch if you do not have 2 hours to wait. not to wait to be seated but they are short on witress!!! when i went we waited 45min for our food and the order was wrong. we sent our pizza back and it came back burnt. the crust was black!! you would think the server would asked for another one but she didn't!! also they have this apprizer called fritto misto that looks really good but if you are like me and like cocktail or some type of seafood sauce don't order this!!! it comes with pizza sauce..eww. i will never return\r if you work in the area like i do i recommend teds or a chineese spot. this is not worth it.."" Cons: HORRIBLE SERVICE AND BAD FOOD COMBINATION more

Mambo's worth going back to 3/9/2008

I've eaten at their new Sandy Springs location and would definitely go back. They have daily specials that I have yet to be disappointed with. The fried ravioli appetizer is a winner. Not quite a fan of the pizza, but everything else has been good. more

Order papa johns 2/18/2008

My husband and I went to try their new location in Sandy Springs this weekend. The menu looked good and we thought a nice little pizza spot would be a no brainer. Service was attentive and helpful with our questions, but the food was just poor. The server advised us that pizzas were too big to eat alone but not quite big enough to share without something else, which was dead on. We both had caesar salads which had no flavor at all and no croutons. My husband had a bowl of minestrone, which was the highlight of the night. Finally, we ordered the pizza special: sliced homemade meatballs with onions and peppers, covered in provelone and mozzerella. The crust - though there was too much of it - was the best part. The vegetables were in huge chunks creating overkill on the flavor of every bite and we only got 4 meatball slices on the whole pie. The cheese and all the toppings were piled in teh center, creating a 3-inch wide band of no toppings aroudn the side. So you were either eating mouthfuls of cheese or straight bread. The pasta around us looked uninteresting, and they had an ahi tuna sushi special, oddly enough. This is a restaurant that needs to decide what it wants to be: pizza joint or Italian food or what? more

Rude employees 11/30/2006

I have eaten there twice and the food is alright, though nothing special. The pizza has a lot crust and very little topping, but the worst part was the unfriendly hostess who looked sloppy and had a bad attitude. She was so rude I almost walked out instead of sitting down where she seated us. The waitress charged us twice for the appetizer and couldn't get it off our bill. We sat patiently waiting for her to ask all of her co workers how to fix it and no one would help her. It took 30 minutes for her to come back and assure me it was fixed even though she couldn't print me a new receipt. I was late getting back to work. Won't go back again! Pros: Forum location Cons: Horrible hostess, inept wait staff more
