We found Mama's a couple of years ago after the great fire and we consider it to be the best...

I read reviews of this place, and even heard people talking about it on the bus, all of which seemed to indicate that this was a great place to eat. My wife and I went there, and ...

Should have got more to go... 6/28/2003

I ate at Mama's for the first time recently and it was great. I ordered a 'mini-pizza' - it was as big as a small somewhere else and only $5.00! I have had better pizza other places, but my friends had pasta that was excellent! That's what I would get. I could not believe the large portions for small prices. Atmosphere isn't much, but the friendly service, great food, and cute cone at the end makes up for it. I'm going back, soon! Pros: Portions, Price, Service Cons: Parking, Small, little smoky more

Mama mia--I am full! 1/24/2003

The moment we opened the door we knew we were in for a great meal. On this cold evening the smell of good food cooking wrapped around us like a warm Italian blanket. The ""small"" plate of pasta is piled high enough to serve 2-1/2 people. Sauce perfectly spiced & had that just right reddish orange tint of fresh 'maters. The meatballs & sausage were hand made rendering my eyes to roll back and the unconscious uhms to escape my mouth. Foot-stomping belly-warming food topped w/VERY genuine-friendly service at a fraction of the price you'd find in more upscale joints. Pros: home-made goodness, friendliness, huge portions more

It doesn't look like much from the outside, and it's not it the best neighborhood, but it is well worth the effort. The food is filling and good, you can get a steak for under $7, and every meal is topped off with a mini cone of soft-serve ice cream. What could be better? more

Homey 8/8/2002

Family atmosphere. They tie bibs around your neck and give you baby ice cream cones after your meal. Pros: Friendly, Great food, Homey atmosphere Cons: Too small, CROWDED more
