Neighborhood place for a nice dinner out 10/28/2005

My husband and I went at 7 pm on a Saturday night with no reservation and got a table right away, though several other groups aferward had to wait. It's a small place and can get loud, but the food is really good and it feels like a neighborhood place. My husband advises to get an appetizer too, because the portions are a bit small. We'll definitely go back. Pros: intimate, great food Cons: a little loud more

Mama's has tasty, NOT pricy Vietnamese food, well prepared and served by caring wait staff. However, this is not the place to come for Pho. They specialize in crab and do it nicely, and, I believe, they have garlic noodles. So, if you can't get to Thanh Long, try here..... 8) Pros: small place, fills up, good value for $$ Cons: not much parking, can have a wait more
