I went to Mama Fu's in the Triangle with a friend, all fired up about trying a place that was new to both of us. We thought it was a sit-down type...

One of the Best Places for PanAsian Food...and Managers that Care!!! 9/15/2008

My family and I are now big fans of the Mama Fu's at the Triangle location. The food is absolutely incredible, like their Thai Dynamite Shrimp for a starter, and the Thai Cashew Stir Fry with Chicken and Fried Rice is my favorite dish. The kids love the Dragon Tails (Chickent Tenders with Macaroni & Cheese), as well as the fact that they get to hang their coloring page up at the host stand when they are done. It does help that kids eat for free all day on Mondays. \r \r Their happy hour is great as my wife and I, and even my co-workers, come by to have their appetizers at half-off...and they don't change their portion sizes either! But being in the customer service industry I love the fact that their staff seems to really care about their restaurant, and more importantly, one of their Managers, Robert, greets us by name and always talks to my two young boys as they seem to be best friends. \r \r I am so glad that Mama Fu's is doing something different at all spectrums of their restaurant. Mama Fu's Asian House is the best in Austin! Thanks... Pros: Managers, Service, Food, Happy Hour, Kid's Eat for Free, Delivery, Parking, Vegetarian Friendly, Live Music Cons: None that I can think of... more

Cool location! 7/17/2008

I just discovered this Mama Fu's in the Triangle (closer to work than the one in south Austin I usually go to). I found my new favorite lunch spot! The guy at the counter said they're starting delivery service, so that will be even better. \r \r The food is great, have never had a bad meal at either location. The atmosphere at Triangle is super cool. It seems kinda upscale and urban, even though it's not a pricey restaurant. I didn't think it feels ""franchise"", and is better decor than most asian restaurants I've been to. There's a free parking garage across the sidewalk. Don't know when they added the garage, but I'll visit The Triangle a lot more now that there is a good place to park! Pros: Good food, parking, atmosphere Cons: NA more

Not sure about the other review... We think it was FANTASTIC!! 4/16/2008

We dined at the new Mama Fu's at the Triangle the other night and I have to say, it was superb. The atmosphere was subdued (not noisy) like the other person said and the service was very good. We are die-hard PF Chang's fans but will be going here more often as the menu is almost identical and the quality IS identical... but the price is not!! Mama Fu's is very affordable and gets high marks from us! Pros: great quality for great price Cons: need more gluten free menu items more

Much improvement needed 1/24/2008

First time we went, the Basil Thai was good. The place is noisy, supposedly reflecting a ""fun"" atmosphere.\r The second time, the fun clerk at the counter had me repeat our order 4 or 5 times and she still got it all backwards. Ordered Basil Thai again without red peppers and what we got was Red Thai noodles and sauce--period! N o vegetables subsituted or anything else! The General Fu had 4 miniscule broccoli flowerettes, which were soggy and past their prime. It was all TOGO, so it was discovered too late. We won't give them a chance again. more
