Malt River has a great ambiance; soft lighting, with colorful decor on the walls. While the interior might remind you of a Starbucks or a Panera, Malt River is more spacious, elegant and unique. It is very appropriate for a business lunch, a romantic dinner, or a late night get-together with friends. You would never guess that such a stylish, attractive restaurant would be in the Latham Circle Mall. The hostesses do a good job of seating groups appropriately. They have cozy booth-seating; perfect for hiding away if you have children. They have a more elegant dining area with a very nice, large fireplace and very unique murals and decor. They also have a lounge tucked away in the corner with couches and comfortable chairs; perfect for happy-hour socializing. The beer selection is simply awesome; they have beers from a dozen countries. They have great beers from Belgium (Hoegaarden and Duvel) and Germany (Paulaner and Franziskaner). The Thai Peanut Wings are the best I've had; superior to the ones at Albany Pump Station (which are very good but not as good as Malt River's). I?ve been to Malt River five or six times in the last three years and the service has always been great. The movie theater is right on the same side of the mall as Malt River; which makes for a great night out. While the Latham Circle Mall has deteriorated over the years, the Malt River is still a great place to eat, and unlike the other Malls, parking and crowds are not a problem. Ironically, Malt River is becoming more and more of a great secret as the Latham Circle Mall become forgotten.
Pros: Beer, Wings, Ambience
