Oh how I wish I could come and get an appt. I can't find anyone to do the job that Chris does on my hair. But alas I'm a little too far away to come get a cut and color. England is beautiful however. Can't say enough good about this place 11/7/2011

Seriously, this place is amazing. Alisa has been cutting my hair for the past year or so, and she's always done an amazing job. She's always been super nice, and if I wasn't a client, we'd totally be dating. :P The stylists are all smokin' hot, and the prices are incredible for everything I get with a standard cut. GET YOUR HAIR CUT AT THIS PLACE! YOU WON'T REGRET IT!!!!!!!!!!! more

Best Place EVER! 10/31/2011

I have been going to Malstroms, since its grand opening. There is not a nicer salon out there. The staff is always cordial and efficient. Chris is THE expert when it comes to hair color and the cut that will make you look your best. I highly recommend Malstroms!! more

Best Salon in SLC!! 10/24/2011

I have been going to Malstrom Salon for over 14 years and the service is wonderful! The owners Chris and Tricia Malstrom are very friendly and talented!! Chris has been my hair stylist for years and I would trust no one else with my hair. He does an excellent job, to which I usually will go in and tell him to do what he thinks will look good. I always walk out loving my hair style and color!! The ambience at the salon is friendly and professional. I would recommend Malstrom Salon to anyone who is looking for amazing hair stylists and wonderful atmosphere. more

Awesome cut and color 10/17/2011

I have been going to Trish at Malstrom Salon for over 10 years. She is awesome. In my opinion, she has special talent in coloring hair. I am a brunette. Trish has colored my hair with summery carmel/blonde highlights and with more rich dark tones in the winter. She always gets it right . . . this is not easy to do! I have never left disappointed in the color, or cut! I would totally recommend her. more

Great Salon! 10/15/2011

I was referred to Tricia (owner) by a friend whose hair always looks fantastic. This was the 4th salon I've tried since moving to SLC 3 years ago, so I was more than pleasantly surprised when I received the best cut and color I've had in a very long time. The hand and scalp massage was an added bonus, too (thanks Emily!) The staff is friendly and easy to talk to. Every client I see walk out of Malstrom has a super cute style and beautiful color. I'm hooked! more

Best Salon in Town 10/14/2011

I have been coming to Malstrom Salon for 4 years now and have never even thought about going to another. I go to Amber for eyebrow waxing and haircuts and she has never failed to amaze me with her talent. The other stylists are extremely kind and talented, so visiting any of them would be well worth your time. It is easy to access, either by car (free parking out front and in back) or by trax. more

A Salon with No Shortage of Style 10/12/2011

I started coming to this salon 4 years ago and have never wanted to try another. It has all of the procedures of a large salon but with the benefits of a small one; friendly, accommodating, and very talented. It has free parking on the street in front and in the back, or you can ride trax and walk a block north to its location. more

Great service, great color, great cut 10/12/2011

I went to Malstrom salon to get my hair cut and dyed semi-permanently with Courtney. She did a fantastic job and was very friendly and helpful. The color and cut turned out EXACTLY how I wanted! I will definitely be coming back. more

Courtney is fantastic. She listens carefully to what I want and does great color and cuts. I appreciate how easy my hair is to maintain, even when I'm past due for a cut. She is friendly and talks just the right amount--not too much, not too little! Would recommend her to anyone. more

Okay I am a guy and guys do not like salons or the whole beauty bit. But I have to admit that I love Malstroms because they treat me right. They have way friendly and helpful staff. Plus my one of my favorite people (who is also the one who cuts my hair) Amber, works there. So if your looking for some place to go to get treated right and to come out looking your best. I am not the kind of girl that knows what to do with my hair. Just grateful for it being there really. This was my first time at the salon and Courtney was my stylist. My only request was to keep the length and make it look good, which she did wonderfully! It's light and flows beautifully! more

Malstrom Salon--The BEST around! 10/7/2011

I started off as an employee, the receptionist, when the salon very first opened. And now I am a loyal customer. I am always complimented on my hair and I am always more than happy to send my friends and family there. The owners, Chris and Tricia, are very cool and that translates to the fun, relaxed atmosphere. I am always greeted with a smile and offered a drink. Everyone is super friendly. And I obviously love that it's an Aveda salon. I can't say enough positive things about Malstrom. more

Love, love, love to go to Malstrom Salon! 10/1/2011

I have been going to Jessica Hoffman for nearly 6 years now for my hair care needs. When she relocated to work with the people at Malstrom's, it took me several miles farther to keep my appointments. It's so worth it. I would not have anyone else color my hair. She always knows just what I need. As for the salon itself. What a great place. The people there all seem to enjoy each other as well as what they are doing, enhancing the experience. The owners are so friendly and always say hi when you are there, giving you the impression that they might actually remember who you are. I would recommend Malstrom Salon to anyone and everyone that I know. Thanks for all you do!! more

Pampered on 7th 10/1/2011

Every time I go in to Malstrom I am pampered from start to finish. It starts with an offer of a drink (and the Aveda tea is wonderful), and then mingles special touches throughout my cut and color. There's the hand massage and the head massage during the shampoo. There's talk if I want it and silent attention when I don't. I always go to Jessica because she does my hair just like I like it and will experiment without going nuts when I need a change. Every time I get my hair done, I try to have an event to go to because I just look so fabulous. Thanks Jessica! Thanks Malstrom! more

Relaxing Experience with the Best Quality 9/30/2011

I moved from New Jersey last year and found Malstrom online. I'v been with them for over a year now and so happy with their hospitality, quality of haircut and pampering. From a guys perspective, I'm in and out within 40 minutes and I feel as if I left a spa, and that's just for a haircut! You will not be dissapointed. Ask for Jessica. She's amazing, and has been cutting mens hair since she was 13 years old!!! more

Malstrom Salon - always exceptional! 9/30/2011

Chris Malstrom has been cutting, coloring, styling and even perming my hair for the past 22 years. He is a very talented hair stylist and runs a great business with his wife/co-owner. The salon has an upbeat yet relaxing atmosphere, the staff is friendly and outgoing and I always have a great experience there. Plus I love Aveda products. I highly recommend Malstrom Salon! more
