Malibu By The Sea

So I was introduced to dallas a couple years ago,he was still kinda fresh out the gate,but he did an amazing job on my hair. He is probably the most attentive stylist I've ever been too,I'm typically in his chair for almost two hours for a shampoo cut and style,but its all worth it! They are amazing,easy to talk to,and I love them! more

Not really new to the area, but new to Malibu! I had an event to attend out of town and wanted to get a little color to my pale skin. As I was driving down Del Monte, I saw their signage and went in. I would have never known from the outside how large this place was. There was hair stylist, nail people; the place was bustling with folks. I went to the counter and met Ian who was very nice and knowledgeable on the different tanning beds and lotions. He recommended since my event was so close to do the Malibu Cocktail which was a spray tan and matrex. I have never seen a tanning bed so big! Ian was accommodating and did my spray tan and told me to back the following day for the matrex. I normally would be against this since I thought it would turn me orange, but it didn't and I didn't even burn in the bed. Thanks Malibu. I will definitely be back for more services. Pros: Reminds me of Hawaii!! Cons: None more

Also a newbie to the area, I tried a salon upon my arrival only to find it mediocre at best. When the time came for another haircut I decided to try out Malibu by the Sea. The initial lure was it's location(right next to the NPS) , reviews of some very satisfied patrons and reasonable prices. When I called the salon I was instructed to contact Ashley directly as the stylists book their own appointments. About an hour later another stylist named Dallas called and told me that she would not be available for my preferred time and offered to take her place. I consented and proceeded to give him a little background about my hair and my expectations. It appeared the we were both on the same page so I confirmed an appointment for the following day. My initial impression of the salon upon entering was it's spaciousness. The decor also reminded me a little of our last tour in Hawaii. Certainly a plus for me. I met up with Dallas and we discussed style options. He was very attentive and made several pleasing suggestions. After all was said and done, my hair looked INCREDIBLE! Dallas being very detail oriented, just like me, insured that I not leave without my hair being perfect. He remained courteous, down to earth and professional throughout the entire visit. All in all my experience was FANTASTIC and I believe I have found my stylist for the remainder of my time here. The ENTIRE staff is very friendly and Dallas, a definite asset to Malibu, wields his shears with precision and talent. Highly recommended! more

I had just moved into town, and had no idea where to go. A girl I work with has really nice hair. I asked her where she went, she said Lisa at Malibu bu the sea. I called her, she was really sweet and professional. She returned my call quickly and got me in. She did an awsome job and I left looking like a new women. She is a stylest who is concentrated on her clients. My old stylest would be on the phone while she worked with me and overlapped her clients you wont find that with Lisa. If your looking for a new look give her a call! Pros: Really friendly staff, everyone there is so funny and nice. Cons: none more

I'm new to the area so, I was on the hunt for a new hairdresser. The staff made me feel right at home. The salon has a hip, spacious and comfy atmosphere. The young woman who did my hair was very helpful in choosing my color and did a great job! My hair looks great! In short, I found my new hairdresser. more

First time to Malibu and the Ian was great to work with. Very knowledgeable on the different tanning beds and many choices of tanning lotions. Their Matrix high pressure bed worked well since I need color quick! Also didn't know they are a full service salon with hair, nails, etc.! I would definately recommend this place to anyone. I have been to a few tanning joints and this one by fair is the cleanest I've been in. Thanks for all the help!!!!! Pros: Lots of parking and tanning beds! Cons: None.... more

Very clean, helpful and courteous (lots of lotions to choose from). First time; used their hight pressue Matrixx bed works wonderful since I have sensitive skin and will recommend to friends. Also received a manicure and pedicure... Pros: Clean, Helpful more
