Major Blinds

Just had Major Blinds put Hunter Douglas into our house. They look spectacular. Exactly what i ordered, and delivered before the estimated time. Tristan, was my sales rep and he spent alot of time gpoing up and down stairs so i could reconfirm my choices, over and over again. Poor guy. Was very professional and was so willing to make sure i was ordering what i wanted. Only one blind had a small defect. The installer simply said it would be replaced. NO HASSLE!! Less than two weeks later, the new blind came in and is perfect. After seeing the blinds installed and how responsived the company was, i just ordered another one. I would highly recommend this company to anyone. more

We were looking for a supplier of blinds and curtains for our home that was a little less expensive than Ethan Allen. We thought Major Blinds could fill the ticket and the salesperson that I talked with on the phone confirmed this. But this was not the case. The drape material is cheap. The lining is so thin that you can see through them. We had 4 windows that we covered with drapes and 6 shutters installed and spent almost $14,000.00. The hardware is cheap and it has a tendency to fall apart. The rods are plastic and the rings are always popping off. Not a very good look either. The install was lame. The company that did the install was called Premier installations and I now understand that they have gone belly up. I can see why. The drapes in the family room were installed but were hung so badly that there were at least 3 inch wrinkle in them because they were hung so low. We also had window shutters installed and they too in several instances were manufactured incorrectly and had to be redone. In retrospect I would not use Major Blinds again. I think I could have spent 5K more and gone to Ethan Allen and got a much better product. The install problems have been corrected but you can't fix thin lining on the curtains without full replacement. What a shame. I heard about Major Blinds on KIRO Radio and thought I could trust them but I was wrong. I would spend more and get a much better product. If you are looking for blinds only Major Blinds may work but for anything to do with curtains don't listen to them they just want your money. more

Two years after moving into our home, we finally decided to get ”real” window treatments. We worked with several companies, and ended up going with Major Blinds. For starters, they are local and very responsive. With another company, it took them two weeks to send a sales associate, but with Major Blinds, scheduling an appointment was a breeze. As for products, they carry a complete selection of Hunter Douglas treatments, which worked well with our windows, which are difficult to say the least (our screens open INWARD?!?). Our sales associate, Tristan, was very thorough and knowledgeable, and came up with a solution that worked with our windows. He was also very professional, e.g. not pushy at all, and extremely responsive when getting back to you. Once the treatments arrived, installation was scheduled very quickly. Major Blinds does not have a showroom, so their overhead is low, and Tristan worked with us to lower the pricing as much as possible. I am a new home owner, and my place was completely without blinds. I saw other reviews for Major Blinds, and it looked promising. They didn't disappoint me. I was particular about what style I wanted in certain windows (2" wood in the front, cellular in the basement and rear/sides), but I didn't really care to pay extra for name brand blinds. Tristan helped me find the style of blinds that I was looking for made by a local manufacturer. The savings were fantastic - easily half of what I would have paid for Hunter Douglas. Tristan also did all the measurements during that visit, and I had a quote before he left. I had 2nd thoughts about what I wanted in one of the bedrooms and called Tristan to get it changed - no problem. He gave me the updated quote over the phone. Two weeks later, the blinds were ready from the manufacturer. The price and work done for the install were great . Sergio installed all the blinds in just under an hour and a half. It was definitely worth having a pro install; that would have taken me 3 times as long. He did leave some of the wrappings and packing material on the floor, but, overall, I am pleased with his work. I had a problem with 6 windows in my living room that were 8' tall. They had vertical blinds that were getting old....plus in cold weather the hot air had an easy job of getting to the windows and keeping the room cold. I hated those winter heat bills!! I heard an ad on Kiro's Ron & Don show that Major Blinds would come to your home give a free estimate. It was one of the wisest phone calls I ever made. I don't look for the cheapest items but I do seek quality and to get both high quality and reasonable pricing was the icing on the cake. Rich measured the windows expertly and gave me a quote. I asked him to measure the 4 kitchen windows which were over 6' tall and add that to the quote....obviously I was impressed with the value being offered. My decision was made and a short time later the installation was scheduled....it was also done very professionally. Since this initial purchase a couple of months ago, I have had Rich back to measure rooms downstairs and those have been installed. I then called for a third time to have the glass doors measured and they are being installed shortly. I know I have other windows that I will get done at some time so Rich was kind enough to measure them and put them on file. Now I can call and just place an order without dragging him out to measure. I wish every time I followed up after hearing an ad on the radio or reading it in a paper or magazine, that my luck would be half this good. No hesitation to say.....Call Major Blinds !! Major Blinds was a Major SCORE for me-- I went to three other blind companies and got rates and MB beat all of them! The serivce was great and they delivered what was promised. I would reccommend MB for anyone in the market for blinds. Pros: On time and professional--lovely blinds more

I was Wrong!!! It was not Major Blinds that caused the problem but Premier Install. The blinds we ordered and received are exactly what we wanted and have done want we wanted. The owner Rich called when he found out about our problem and has worked to correct the situation that the install company caused. He has been wonderful to work with and I feel teriible that I said what I did before I knew everything. I will recommend this company to friends and family because I have found that Rich stands behind his product and company. I can't retrack the post I had already done, but I admit when I was wrong. 1st let me say that these 3 windows are all in our house that is brand new and we have been in since May 29th. When they were installing our sliding glass door treatment, insteading of going straight up, installer went sideways and broken through the drywall and came out the front of the wall, cracking the drywall. He pushed it back into the wall and puttied over the hole he made but blamed it on our high ceilings. Then after installing our solar screen on a 6'x6' window they left it up and left. When we pulled it down we discovered that it was not square and had a 1/2" gap on 1 side. They sent a senior installer out a few days later who told us that the big window was out of square and this is how the screens are made. But I our salesperson should have informed us of this so we would have known and maybe been given the option of what we wanted to do, not just to have a 1/2" gap on 1 side of a window that everyone see. As far as the drywall does, this senior installer told us that if we gave him some paint, he would use a q-tip and cover the putty, but that's all they would do. Nothing is done about the cracked drywall. So for 3 windows - we spent $1400.0 and out of that we have 1 that doesn't fit right and a cracked wall. I would call this pretty bad service. Fast, dependable, friendly! First purchased blinds for my daylight basement great room and downstairs bedrooms. We purchased blinds from other company's before. None of them compares to Major Blinds. We were impressed with the selections, we were shown. The measurements taken turned out perfect, especially the kitchen window which has a cut out at the bottom. We encountered a problem with the valance on the back door, so we spoke with Rich and he took care of the problem right away by replacing it with a special valance. I liked that one so much I decided to change all the valances. We have received many comments about how good they look. We had a wonderful experience, the salesman came to our house, fully explained the pro's and Con's of numerous styles and price ranges, gave us the feeling he was truly looking out for our best interest, not just trying to sell us the most expensive item. He measured the windows and put in the order. Salesman was pretty good, gave us a great idea of how to take care of a few windows at a reasonable price, but the installer was rude to my son, refused to put down a cover to protect my hardwood floors from his ladder and when he installed the blinds wrong, tried to blame it on the salesperson. I called the salesman who came out and reinstalled the blinds properly in about 5 minutes. So, I got what I wanted, but probably won't call them back. Major Blinds Window Fashions was the only window treatment company out of the four that we shopped that showed us several different choices for each of the products we were looking for. We had Major Blinds come out to the house last out of the four. Everyone else wanted to show us Hunter Douglas because they have best name brand but Major Blinds showed us Hunter Douglas as well as three or four other brands of the same quality. The Major Blinds pricing on the Hunter Douglas was priced a little lower than the others but the other brands that looked the same and fealt the same in our home were priced about 40% less than the Hunter Douglas. We decided to go with the lower priced products, especially with the economy right now and wanting to save some $$$. We just just asked ourselves... who's ever going to ask you what brand your blinds are and what guest would ever go over and lift the shades up to see what brands they are. We've now used Major Blinds three times and have referred them to a contractor friend of the family. If you decided to give Major Blinds a chance to earn your business, they will do just that and you will be happy you gave them a chance. Pros: Rich Vessey and his crews... I highly recommend Rich and his staff at Major Blinds! I did my homework and shopped around with several companies prior to using them. Major Blinds had a better selection for everything we were looking for (blinds, shades and shutters). They also beat their competition on pricing! Above all, I was most impressed with their customer service. From our very first call, to working with the install team, they are by far the most professional/courteous company we have worked with!
