hot water tank had low water pressure,only 6 years old.Serviceman was friendly and knew what problem was plus told me expansion tank also needed to be replaced, Did not have parts or expansion tank on service truck yet knew i told them on phone it was a hot water tank problem.Had to wait 45 minutes for somebody to bring parts and exp.tank over.Charged $252,00 for expansion tank and installation and $272.00 for adapter plus installation. 6 yr, warrenty did not cover those those parts.Expansion tank cost around $50.00. After replacing a part that only cost 189.00 but charged us over 500.00, the technician then told my husband that whole system needs to be replaced. When he brought that to his attention the technician said they would take "something off". The over priced part and over priced service was with their " contract". Well even if they would take off the full 500.00 (which they wouldn't, or they would have said" we will not give them our business or another dime!!! more

I have been using this company for a year now and everyone is exceptional. They get me an appointment right away and they show up on time and are so efficient and kind. I would never recommend this company to my worst enemy. They will not give a detailed bill. The parts only cost $30 if I went to buy them they charged me $2756 for a job that took 5 hrs two guys to rip a hole in kitchen wall take a 6' pipe out put a 6'pvc pipe in with couplings left grease marks all over bathroom toilet, floor, under bathroom sink it was disgusting. I had sewer water leaking in kitchen twice in two days have to rip up kitchen floor, ceiling tiles walls. They did not come on day promised. Left me with no water in bathroom for over a week they work weekends could not come out. Never will I call them again!!! I had to have my kids move fridge and stove back I have back issue can't move them so sorry I called them but they were the only ones could get to come out two days before Thanksgiving. I had to clean sewage from bathtub. Just not someone I would ever recommend to anyone. Paying for their high priced commercials. I have worked in the service industry and they are not clear on their billing. Very unhappy with how they handled things used my shopvac to suck up waste and left it in there. I am single mom working full time they offer payment arrangements but wanted it paid up front. Never again. Shop around. more

This is my second dealing with Maitz. The first time the wife picked them out from the net.She was paying for that one so I left it up to her. We had a seasonal cleaning done oil furnace. I felt the mechanic did a fine job. He seemed knowledgeable, concentrated on his work at hand. He was on time. But the bill was almost $190 for an hours work. Like I said she picked them, and she paid. I contacted them on the internet for a water leakage from the pressure valve on the same oil furnace. A gentleman from Maitz showed up on time very professional looking man. I told him what was going on. He was knowledgeable and knew what the problem was right away. I was relieved as I am handy but know nothing of boilers. He gave me an estimate. For $1800.00 ! After looking at the estimate, and looking up the parts online. And watching a few u tube videos. I fixed it myself for $34.00, parts in stock from Home Depot. NO FREAKING SHIP! I suggest you steer clear of this company. more

Called Maitz on a hot Saturday morning to service Central Air unit. Saturday is a normal work day for them and they only charge $99 for a service call. Competitors were charging $150. Maitz said they could come right over but competitor wasn't free till 4pm (should have known this wasn't right). Technician told me I needed just over 2 pounds of R-22 refrigerant for my older system. He said I would need to pay $572 for the freon in addition to the service charge. My other option was to replace with a new system that would cost $5,000 - $10,000. He cited the fact that the cost of freon had sky rocketed. I had guests staying with us so I thought I had no choice but I didn't seem right to me. I ran into a competitor in my neighborhood a couple days later and they said it would have cost me $150 for 3 pounds of freon along with a $150 charge for Saturday service. So what ended up costing $671 should have been $300. I promptly followed up with the service manager to ask why they charge almost 4 times what their competitors do for freon. After citing higher operating costs, confirming that I agreed to pay it (under false information in my opinion) he indicated that the tech made a mistake and charged me the "over 2 pounds rate" when he shouldn't have and agreed to refund $215. I indicated that I was still unhappy paying almost $360 for what should have cost $150 but it was better than nothing. I did further research and freon costs companies about $13 per pound so this ended up being a 923% mark up after the refund. Be careful getting service from a company with low off hour service charges, they may make up for it with much higher repair costs once they are at your door.. more

I could not believe a real person answered the phone this past Sunday! Then a tech named Tim was here within 2 hours.... and he did not charge me for coming out on Sunday as extra... He said its just another day at Maitz we are oven everyday... Wow you got something good going at that company. Thank you and I will be sure to keep passing the good word. Kate Secler Easton, PA more
