Burnt Pancakes?! 4/6/2009

We went years ago, had milky clam chowder that was missing the clams, my husband was served pancakes that were burnt on one side with overcooked bacon, and I made the mistake of ordering their dried out lobster pie that was nothing but frozen lobster meat and cracker crumbs. I'm a chef. But, some friends talked us into going again about a year ago and, although they didn't burn the food, I really can't say it's good. Maybe you're supposed to bring your own spices. The staff really doesn't seem to know how to pay attention to details, like refilling my empty beverage when they served our dinners,(duh)or dropping off the check and showing us where to pay, not even with a "Thank you, come again". more

The Maine Diner 4/6/2006

This restraunt is a great casual place to take your family. We just recently went there for the first time for breakfast. The food was fantastic! The portions where very big, and it came piping hot. Our coffee cups were always full. The downside to this place is that we found it to be a bit pricey for breakfast, but it was worth it. We paid $25, including tip for 2 adults and a child. We shared with our son so all we ordered him was a chocolate milk. So $25 was for two meals, an extra drink, and tip. A little more than we wanted to spend, but I think we will definately go back for the great food! more

the Maine Diner........great place for lunch......very, very popular 4/4/2006

The Maine Diner is a very popular place......gets filled up on the weekends. Its worth the 15 to 20 minute wait! You can get a table or booth or you can sit at their diner counter...either is very good. They have everything you can imagine from burgers, to meatloaf, clam rolls, mac and cheese, chicken salad sandwich. They have daily specials like a pork roast dinner. They have all the diner desserts such as sundaes, jello, ice cream, pie, cakes......and more. Next door is their gift shop with lots of diner souvenirs to buy and t shirts and maine related gifts. Oh.......did I mention that the food and the service is terrific!!!!!! more

Maine Diner 3/20/2006

Delicious food and low costs. I had a 3 course meal for $15 or less. This is a good place if you are looking for something that isn't too wild but not something you would make yourself everyday. I have to say my favorite menu items were the chicken fingers and the maple waffle sundae. Half a Belgium waffle, with 2 scoops of creamy vanilla ice cream topped off with what appeared to have been a quarter can of whipped cream. Yum. Good food with great prices! more

Good Food Cheap! 3/16/2006

We go to Maine diner when we don't have time to cook but don't want fast food. This is real food. My daughter had the waffle sundae for desert and it was awesome. The waffle was crunchy on the outside, tender on the inside with lots of ice cream and toppings on it. A month ago our power was out for 2 days and we ate at the Maine diner every day. I didn't have one thing I didn't like. more
