Main Street Optometry

I just had a bad experience at this downtown Northport glasses place. My teenage daughter picked out a pair of frames, we waited ten days, only to find out that they had mixed up the order....then tried to convince my daughter that she had actually picked out a different pair of frames. This escalated into a (loud) discussion with one of the doctors...who was honestly not helpful. I'm never gong back. more

This place reminded me of the eyeglass place that I used to go to as a teenager, very small and family owned. Very limited selection and it took two and a half weeks to get my frames, which seems a little unreasonable...I'm thinking that they may use some sort of discount house to source their product? They also seemed confused about how my vision insurance worked. Anyway, I like my new glasses once they finally arrived. more

STAY AWAY!!! After three visits and three bad experiences with Dr. Vasquez, my family and I have found another local optometrist. Dr. Vasquez is most inflexible and she has actually yelled at me during two of my three transactions with her. In one case my son was overcharged by $60, an error that I caught a couple of days after his visit. This my have been pure sloppiness (versus dishonesty), as the assistant that handles the front desk and billing is incompetent. At any rate, I tried to clear it up with Dr. Vasquez and this ended-up with her literally shouting at me over the phone. In another case, after I ordered contacts for my son at college, the contacts company called Main Street Optometry to verify the prescription and they refused to approved the re-order. Again, when I called the office to try and clear this up, I was screamed at by Dr. Vasquez and then she hung up on me. We have since taken our business elsewhere, and we have told all of our friends in Northport to STAY AWAY! more
