Unfortunate Experience 10/7/2009

After our last cleaning crew broke something and then fessed up that they really didn't have insurance, we were looking for a more professional, insured company, and were willing to pay $ for that. My first conversation with Chrissy was great, and she was receptive when I asked for her to fax us a copy of her insurance certificate. It NEVER came. \r \r We went ahead with the first cleaning anyway. The girls she sent us were less than friendly. They walked out of our house in the middle of the job, with no explanation, sat in the car for 20 minutes, then returned. the owner told me that she or her husband would stop by the job, neither of them ever showed up.\r \r The cleaning job was OK at best. They were supposed to be dusting, but I found dust everywhere, the marble floors were all streaked, and they poured water on our real hardwood floors (I mean A LOT of water). The next week, on garbage day, I went to take the garbage bags out of my kids rooms (They apparently do not take out garbage), and thought it was odd that there was so much of it. Luckily I noticed my daughter's dress in the 2nd bag I was taking out. I went back to the curb and started rifling through the bags. They were filled with garbage, my kids toys, my kids clothing. HOW LAZY!!!! Not only did I leave an empty bin in each child's room and tell them to put any items for which they could not find a place in there, but all of my kids have hampers in their rooms. \r \r After over 4 hours (with two women working), they were ready to leave. When we went to pay them ($25pp/hr = $50/hr) my husband asked about the break. They told us that we have to pay for that, that they are allowed to take a 15 minute break. Last time I checked the labor laws there was a minimum amount of work hours needed to be entitled to that break. If they were working all day, let it be on the company's tab, not mine!\r \r We asked how many hours our house would take on a weekly basis and (again) about the break thing, and they told us that owner would call us and tell us all of that and set up the next appointment. Six days later I got a call that they were coming to me at 12pm the next day? I never arranged anything with them, so I called back and told them I had already found someone else. the owner was shocked, but apologetic that the girls didn't leave a card that they were supposed to leave or something. \r \r Now I am using a $15/hr crew and my house has never been cleaner. I guess the lesson here is more expensive doesn't always mean higher quality. I feel bad because I really liked the owner on the phone and wanted it to work out, but they need to get a lot more organized over there. Pros: Available at last minute Cons: worst cleaning I have had, cleaners rude, high price more
