Maher Tamara Z Do

I have been with Dr. Maher for 8 months now. For every good thing that has happened with her there have been 4 negatives. I have stayed since she has been there when I went through a lot of medical stuff that is still undiagnosed and it was easier to stay than to change doctors and have to re explain everything. There have been multiple times where I would call and leave a message and never receive a call back. The final straw is that I got sick with bronchitis/pneumonia (not sure which since she refuses to see me) last week. I called to ask for something for my cough as I couldn't sleep. They never called back, the next day I called again and they called something in for me. When I got the medicine it was listed as an antihistamine and it absolutely did not work. I called the next day (now Friday) to tell them that it didn't work and ask for something else. I was told it takes 48 hrs to work and to give it time. I told them that 48 hours is a long time to not sleep and they didn't say anything but told me to call back MONDAY if it didn't work. So it's Monday, and I call back and say I need something, I am not doing good. I am told the doctor wishes to see me, but can't until Wednesday and they won't be calling in anything in the meantime. I am fed up after months of putting off leaving her I am finally done, this is not the first time that I have been ignored with something important. more

Dr. Maher is honestly the most caring and compassionate doctor I have ever been to! She has been such a huge part of my family's life for the past 4 or 5 years and I feel forever grateful for all that she has done. Most recently she saved my husband's life right before our wedding and she was such a huge support not only medically but emotionally for me. She came to the hospital everyday and put our whole family at ease. She is truly a blessing and I can't imagine going to any other doctor. You can see by most of the comments (other than the 2 comments that are probably from some bitter person) that she is a wonderful and knowledgable doctor. You are missing out if she is not your doctor!!!! more

Dr. Maher is the best doctor I've ever met. As a pharmaceutical sales person I have met most of the doctors in Los Angeles and Orange County. I chose her as my personal physician because she is smart and is always informed on diseases and new treatments on how to treat them. She is a great listener and always takes plenty of time to take care of my medical (and sometimes emotional) needs. I have always been able to get in the same day when I needed to see her right away and she calls the next day to make sure I am feeling better. When I have been in the hospital, she has come by to see me twice a day and always sends the best specialists to handle my needs. She has excellent follow through and will even see me in the evening when I've been really sick. If you want the best, see Dr. Maher! more

While on an extended stay in California I became ill. Someone recommended Dr. Maher to me and I am so glad I went with that recommendation. Dr. Maher really was thorough and patient. She listened to me and then after ordering the correct tests she figured out what was causing my problem. She also followed up with me to make sure that I continued to get better. I really was so happy that I found such a caring and knowledgable doctor. more

Dr. Maher is an excellent physician. She takes time to listen, makes accurate diagnoses, and treats will skill and compassion. She is current on medical research and has always taken care of my problems, some big, some small. I suspect the person who wrote the unflattering review of Dr. Maher probably has bad encounters with everyone else they meet. more

I have known Dr. Maher since she was a resident at UCI in the early 1990s. From day one, I loved her and my love even grew more as I became a patient. She has taken great care of my family & I for so many years now and I have nothing but praise for her. She has been my doctor and my guardian angel (I truely believe). She has saved my life many times in my lifetime. She is very sensitive and caring and exteremly bright. As a doctor, she is very competent, up-to-date and compassionate. What more could I have ever asked for!!!! \r \r She has come to my rescue and never has given up on me and my medical problems even though the specailists I saw did give up without throughly looking for anwers. On numerious occassions, it was even proven to me that she knew much more and cared much more than any other doctor I had ever seen. Please do not let the unfair and unjustified comments of just 2 people change your mind about her. She is truley the very best!!!! I have been a pateint od Dr. Maher for at least 15 years. She is caring, loving and very knowledgeable and willing to do whatever it takes to help you get better. I disagree completely with the 2 people that have had bad reiews about her. She diagnoses so with care and provides the best care. I would never go to any other doctor. She is so sensitive to your needs and will go way out of her way to help any patient that know other doctor will ever do. God bless her and keep her happy and healthy at all times. I am of the opinion that communication works both ways. You make an appointment, have a list of things you want to talk about, maybe leave some questions with the Dr that she can answer for you when she has time to look over them. Also, why don't you talk to her about your concerns and feelings and give her a chance to fix it, before spreading rumors about her that she can't defend. That's unfair!!!!!\r I've been seeing her for years as well as my children and friends, and we have no problems discussing our concerns with her. She is always willing to listen and giving us her honest opinion even if it is something we don't want to hear. \r She is caring, sensitive and above all well intentioned. \r So next time you have a problem with someone or something ask yourself did I communicate what I wanted to? I read that Dr maher is not caring and get's things wrong; that's not Dr. Maher at all. She is the best family Dr. I have ever had. My brother and I both have been patients of her's for 8 years. I have a very rare type of cancer and without Dr. Maher's help finding a good cancer Dr. I don't know what would have happened to me. I allso suffer from several other conditions that take constant monitoring and she and her staff are alway's there for me.I also have recommened alot of people that I care about to her and they all are very happy with her. more

Horrible, no communication and then gets angry with the patient when asked for information regarding a serious diagnosis. I do not know what is going on with this doctor but I will never go to the office again. I received horrible treatment and they know they dropped the ball. This is not ""spreading rumors? because I am being100% truthful. If Dr Maher felt my comments were untrue, she could obtain my IP address and bring me to court for libel. Since the comments regarding my experience are true, however, I am not worried at all. Dr. Maher let me down and I am pretty sure she feels the same way. It was a bad experience and potential patients have a right to know the good and bad and make a decision themselves. I came across this review on my doctor on citysearch while researching reviews on the professional people I deal with on a daily basis. I felt compelled to contradict this review. I have been a patient of Dr. Maher's for over SEVEN YEARS. She is not rude, nor uncaring in any manner, in fact the only thing she may be guilty of is caring too much for patients and not taking time for herself. Dr. Maher was there for my family when my mother-in-law passed away and visited us in the hospital almost every night and supported us. That meant the world to me. As an attorney in the L..A. area it is very detrimental to someone professional reputation to write such disparaging comments about them online. This could cause damages. Also, by stating that a person has lied and attacking their person you subject yourself to a harassment order. To state that other patients have left her is unfounded without evidence to support that assertion. FYI I think she looks great!! more

Unfortunately after 4 years I have to find a new doctor. Lately she has been extremely busy, short and rude. She had my charts all mixed up with somebody elses. It all began soon after her Face Lift and Lap-band surgeries. Now that she has lost a ton of weight, she seems to have no time for anybody and has lied about a few things and how do you argue with a doctor? Unfortunately a lot of people have already left her and I can only hope she changes for the best of her mortgage and car loan's sake.. I miss the old Tamara.
