Maher was contacted to move a partial load from the Quad Cities to the Philadelphia region. It took over 2 months to obtain an estimate and only that quickly because of multiple phone calls made. The move was scheduled within a 4 day window and the delivery promised in 5-14days. At 11 days I made a phone call to see where my things were. I discovered my things had left the warehouse the day after I called (and, it came out later- 2 days after I called and 2 days before promised delivery date.). It was transferred to the hands of another moving company- unbeknownst to me and arrived in Philadelphia over a week late. Maher recorded the wrong contact numbers for the shipment as well. Due to work and vacation conflicts (scheduled over a week after the scheduled deliver date) the furniture was to be delivered. The local company claims they also received no notice of the shipment (athough that is likely their own company's lack of communication in all fairness. ) ON the DAY of delivery, I received a phone call telling me I needed $1300+ in cash or a cashier's check or my furniture would not be delivered. I had to run to the bank to be back for the movers in less than an hour. They refused to give me any compensation for their delay and poor management, believing, apparently, an Outback Steakhouse Gift card would be enough to smooth things over. Would not recommend this company.
