My hubby and i were driving around looking for a place to stop and have dinner. After a while, we kind of ""settled"" on Mahe. Didn't seem like much from the outside. I thought the place might be divey from the exterior with the cheesy ""cocktail"" neon sign. but was I in for a surprise. Walking in, the place was packed. But we were seated immediately. Although the place was kind of small, it felt roomy with the colorful interior and and the ppl inside were animated. We were going to order sushi, but after seeing their menu, we had to try something else. We each order the fresh oysters and they were delish. THe sauce they used was tangy, sweet with a hint of spiciness. I just wish I had a bit more lemon. I ordered the Alaska Butterfish with the garlic mashed potatoe. It was melt-in-your-mouth good. THe string beans were nicely done, except I wish they pulled the ""string"" part. It came with a salad and I was hoping for some type of miso dressing but the only choice was ranch, bleu cheese and vinigarette. My hubby liked it tho. He ordered the Seafood pasta, which he thoroughly enjoyed. the seafood pieces were substanial and the baby lobster tail was a nice touch. One thing he would have like was a bit of veggies ~ perhaps asparagus to give it that final texture. He even liked the sourdough bread with the whipped butter. That was really good ~ soft, buttery with a hint of sweetness. I would have ordered dessert but was too full. We had to take a doggy bag which seldom happens. The service was really good ~ attentive yet non-intrusive. They always came by at the right time ~ whether it was to say hello, or to give use water or to serve the appies to the entrees. I'd definately go back. Looking fwd to my next visit! Thanks!
Pros: Wide selection of seafood dishes, the attentive service
Cons: parking is tight on street and on lot
