Not my favorite, but good 8/30/2009

I've only eaten here a few times, mostly when I'm with people who are too snooty for Brooklyn's pizza. Magpie's is certainly good enough to merit a positive review, but to be honest the prices are too high for pizza, in my opinion, and the preparation is done with a heavy hand, which leads to a pizza that I find texture-ly unappealing. Pros: Many, many options Cons: Pricing, and pizza is too thick for my liking more

Used to be good 12/13/2008

This place has gone downhill over the years. The pizzas are no longer good and they have horrible customer service. If you say anything bad about the pizza to them, they start to lie and give a bunch of excuses. Pros: None any more Cons: Pizza, service, bad quality more

Horrible Experience! Worst Pizza Ever! 3/5/2008

Horrible pizza... expensive price... horrible employees Cons: Expensive, Horrible Customer Service, Awful Pizza more

When made right, good... otherwise, HORRIBLE 1/26/2008

At Magpies you either get a good pizza or a horrible pizza. I had some good pizzas from Magpies, like the ones from the Cortaro Farms site. But, I've also had HORRIBLE pizzas, like the ones from the Speedway site. When I say horrible, I mean the pizza didn't have the right toppings, the pizza missed a few toppings, the pizza was cold, the pizza was very soggy, the managers (like the one at the Speedway site) were rude and don't understand proper customer conduct, and bad customer service. Pros: When you're lucky, its a good pizza Cons: Otherwise, the pizza is horrible. Magpies Guarantee is a lie. Bad customer service more

Cold, Soggy, Expensive Pizza that Arrived Late 3/31/2007

Despite placing my pizza order 2 hours in advance, and asking that it PLEASE not arrive any later than 12:30pm, my order arrived 15 minutes late. Both pizzas (I ordered 2 jumbos; the white pizza and the mediterranean) were cold and barely edible, certainly not worth the $50+tip that I paid. The white pizza was flavorless and the mediterranean was soggy. I can't believe this pizza passes as 'gourmet.' Please....I've gotten better pizza at the grocery store! Maybe Magpies was having a bad day. I suppose my experience could have been a fluke but I'm certainly not going to purchase pizza from there again. more

Cant eat it there 1/12/2007

The pizza at Magpies is good, but it doesn't live up to Eclectic Pizza... I thought the crust wasn't very flavorful, saw the options after we ordered. The topping were unusual and high quality. The sauce had great flavor. We ate the pizza at the speedway location. Two small tables made it not enjoyable to eat there. I would definately take it to go next time, if I couldn't get to Eclectic that is. Pros: Good Pizza to take home Cons: Cant eat there, Eclectic has better value and crust more

Not bad, but way overpriced 1/8/2007

I recently moved here from New Jersey... The pizza at Magpies isn't bad, but it doesn't live up to real NJ Italian Pizzeria pizza, and Magpies is much more expensive than anywhere else I've ever had pizza... (Over 16 dollars for a large one topping pizza which isn't really all that large.)..... I can get a steak dinner for that much, so I had to give Magpies a below average rating... To me, 16 or 17 bucks is way too much to pay for an average pizza with one topping, made by local high school kids... Maybe they raise their prices during the high tourist season, since those are January prices, but as far as I'm concerned, those prices are ridiculous. Cons: Way too expensive more

an explosion of flavor 11/24/2006

This is the place to go if you're in the mood for exotic flavors and filling pizza. The greek pizza with mozzarella, feta, spinach, pine nuts, basil, garlic, and sun dried tomatoes is to die for and the spicy jc pesto with jalapenos, nuts, and cheese combos is a southwest treat. Roasted veggie salads are great too and your order is ready fairly quick. Yes the prices are higher than your ordinary pizza but you get what you pay for and this is worth it! Pros: very tasty and filling Cons: a bit pricey more

Best pizza available! 8/27/2006

This really is some delicious, gourmet pizza. I strongly suggest going with one of their creations or coming up with something creative yourself because a plain old one topping with regular pizza sauce won't do this place justice. The pesto is delicious and a delicious and healthy alternative is the whole wheat pizza dough. And a little hint....if you give them another pizza company's magnet, they'll take $5 off your order! Makes Magpies much more reasonably priced. Pros: Pesto sauce, whole wheat crust, lots of gourmet toppings Cons: a little pricey, but well worth it more

Loved the unique choices. Checked out the Houghton location in person before ordering and found it very clean and appetizing. The home delivery prompt as promised and pizza hot & fresh on arrival. We'll order again. Pros: choices/combinations, really clean more

MmmmMagpies :) 4/8/2004

Amazing! Wide variety of toppings, great sauce - even the soy cheese pizza is to die for! Also one of the cleanest places I've eaten in - A- (could go a little heavier on the toppings). more

Great Pie! 1/2/2003

We love magpies. I especially go for thier white pie with tomatoes! The crust is always good and the sauce is fine. Prices are a bit high, but the pie is worth it. Pros: Good Food, Freindly People, Delivery available Cons: Pricey more

just so so 12/25/2002

didnt think it was worth it, food was just ok and to pricy for what we paid more

MY. My Best Pie 10/5/2002

The pesto sauce is the best. All ingredients are fresh and wonderful. Pros: worth waiting for, take home and bake, unlimited choices more

MMMMMarvelous 10/4/2002

A great change from the ordinary, always fresh and tasty. And the ""Take and Bake"" pizzas are a dream. Pros: Tasty, Adventerous, Gourmet Cons: Little Ambience, Usually Small more

Gourmet all the way! 8/13/2002

It is the SouthWestern flavor pizzas which are absolutely out of this world! All their pizzas are for the real gourmets, and they are so healthy! Pros: Good, timely service, Excellent choices, Unique creations Cons: Only in Tucson more
