If you are visiting Chicago, perhaps for business and you find yourself stuck way out in the western suburbs, such as Rolling Meadows, you need not despair about the food. Tucked away among the Continental Towers on Golf Road in Rolling Meadows is Magnum's Prime Steakhouse.
The setting is small and intimate. On a Friday you will find the bar filled with workers from the offices upstairs coming down for an end-of-the-week drink. The bartenders are friendly and, quite honestly, very attractive.
The food is excellent. One of the best steaks I have had in this town and I had it within view of the tollway. Their lunches are reasonably priced and the only difference is that the portions are just a bit less than the dinner portions. They have a great selection of salads and appetizers. Their club sandwich comes highly recommended from my friend J.D.
I recomend the pork chop. The filet is also outstanding. The servers are just as friendly as the bartenders and the service is appropriately paced so you don't feel rushed. At night the lighting and atmosphere is also appropriately intimate.
So, you don't need to go downtown to Gibson's or even the Magnum's down there. If you find yourself in the suburbs of Chicago, you can still get great food and a great drink.
