Nightmare at lynnwood Magnolia 1/2/2007

Do not take your car there. I had new system put in to my Acura NSX by Magnolia Hi-Fi, Lynnwood. They did such a poor job that I don't want to drive my car anymore. The amp on the back seat is not secured, they put 2 sided tape on the back of the amp to hold on amp to carpet. DVD doesn't work, they didn't hook up w/e brake. Subwoofer was mounted on a flat piece of board(not box enclosed) w/ insulation in the back. I am afraid to even look behind the door for the door speakers they put in. They told me that they did nsx before, and that they can do anything. I guess they never did. I went back to let them know what they had done. They fixed most of the issues, but I am not happy the way they secured my amp. So called bracket made from twisted matal strips doesn't impress me. They also left saw dust (when they modified center console) in the gear box and under the floor mat. For them, installer is the best because he is fast. But not for customer when quality is exteremely poor. Do not take your car there if you love your car. more

Great Chain, Not So Great Store 11/19/2006

I've been buying from Magnolia Hi-Fi happily for over a decade, across several states and many residences. The chain in general has (or can have - see my review of the Bellevue store) great prices, excellent service and good equipment. The salesmen know their stuff. Okay, that said, the Lynnwood store isn't so great. We've been in there about four times. Each time something was off. Once they were certain they have an item in stock, and they didn't. Another time the salesman just creeped my wife out. Last night we were there, with test material, to buy new speakers but we didn't believe our ears on the comparison. And with good reason - the systems were wired wrong! That doesn't make Magnolia a bad store. I still bought from them, today in fact. But not from the Lynnwood store. more

Bummer 6/22/2006

We have had some bad service from Magnolia. My family has shopped at Magnolia for over twenty years and for a long time they were the only game in town. They are a Seattle institution, however, they may not be at the rate they are going. We have purchased two televisions from them as well as other equipment, but their service is not only sub-par, it is frustrating. One television recently went on the fritz and we had them repair it. It took over three months. They were not helpful, in fact we had to call them to find out the status, and we most likey will purchase from the competitors in the future. more
