I am a Fashion Designer and have been ordering fabric and sewing supplies online for over ten years and never had such a bad experience with a company prior to this. On Nov 4th I ordered a bolt of fabric from Magna Fabrics. Their website uses PayPal so I was immediately charged for the order and it went into an approved status. I was a little confused what this meant so I called to clarify and he argued with me about the appropriateness of the fabric I ordered based on end use. I politely humored him and he then agreed and once that was settled he said it would ship on Nov 8th. The fabric was needed by Nov 15th and he was shipping FedEx home taking four days so all was good. On Nov 10th the fabric had still not shipped. He had provided a tracking number but FedEx showed that pick up was never arranged. When I called to find out why he lied and said it was sent. I told him FedEx had no record of my shipment and he got rude again and told me to email him with the tracking number because he did not have time to talk to me. I sent him an email on Nov 10th with no reply and then an email on Nov 11th again with no reply. On Nov 12th I disputed the charge with PayPal and he finally called on Nov 15th stating that he would send the fabric with arrival on Nov 17th two days after my required date. I accepted it because I still could have finished the garment prior to my event however he actually shipped it to arrive on the 19th. When he was confronted about this he complained about the repeated phone calls and my ""short"" email. He also complained that he was no longer making money on the product because of shipping and the time it took to answer my phone calls and preferred only emails which he previously ignored. I am grateful for two things, that I can dispute this through PayPal and that the garment was not for a client. Also, with all of this correspondence he did not provide his name. In short, Magna Fabrics does not care enough about their clients to resolves issues in a timely fashion, talk to them on the phone, be polite, return emails, take responsibility for their mistakes, or even ship the paid for products. I had to go to PayPal for a resolution because Magna Fabrics ultimately never righted their wrong.
