Great Store for Cool Toys 4/22/2006

This is a great store to look for higher end toys (educational toys and the like). They have a play space, which is remarkable given how short on space they are. That would be the biggest complaint, that the store is really cramped, and you always feel like you're bumping into things (can't imagine being in there with a stroller). They carry a lot of really nice, quality toys and other items for babies and children that you won't find in too many other stores. Naturally parking is a bit of a problem here, though if you are able to find a space in the big metered lot then it's just a quick walk. It's also just a couple of blocks down from C line Coolidge Corner stop. Prices reflect the high quality. Because of the small space they don't have as much as larger stores. more

great place to look for double strollers 3/17/2006

magic beans has the best variety of double strollers of anywhere in the brookline area. babies r us and baby depot and some other smaller baby stores in the area all have a couple options but by far magic beans has the biggest variety. in addition, i totally agree with what everyone says about how the staff there knows a ton about each stroller and will help you out a lot, they let you take the strollers around the store and even outside to "test drive" them. the store is a little expensive, but really really great place for looking at double strollers. plus, they have all the accessories that you would need for a double stroller. a great store/ more

Excellent selection of strollers 12/28/2005

A great local baby and toddler store. Purchased a gift for a baby shower, they had a much larger selection of strollers, running strollers, and high-end car seats. They carry all the basic baby accessories, but their real forte is furniture, strollers, and car seats. They have some great educational toys for children and a really wide selection for a local store. There is a reasonable amount of parking in Coolidge Corner, so that is not a problem. more

Item purchased - missing parts 12/1/2005

Bought a highchair there, and brought it home to find package of screws opened. Tried to put it together, and realized screws were missing as well. Not worth the trip back and forth. Manager not particularly helpful and a little condescending. Next time, we will go to another local store to purchase baby gear e.g. wild child in arlington, or the right start in natick. more

WOW! The best place to shop for strollers! 9/3/2005

If you aren't impressed by the choices at Babies R Us, make the trip to Magic Beans. You will be very impressed! Yes their strollers are expensive, but they are truly amazing. Their staff is so helpful as well and will spend a ton of time with you discussing all of the various features available. Their stroller display is what is truly unique about the store, but they also carry a full line of carseats, toys, carriers, etc. There is even a fun play area for the kids. Check it out!! more

strollers galore 8/16/2005

While this store has a good selection of everything for young ones, their selection of strollers is impressive. Even better is the staff is well informed about the pluses and minuses of each one and can help you make a good informed decision. They also have a number of toys and educational products for kids of all ages, though the pickings get slimmer for those in middle school and older. This is a store you might want to avoid bringing your kids to because they're sure to find something they can't live without! more

Great store for kids and parents! 8/2/2005

Magic Beans is a wonderful store in Coolidge Corner that has something for everyone. It is a fun toy store that caters to parents who prefer high quality games and toys that promote creativity. In addition to toys, they have a ton of baby gear and knowledgeable staff available to assist new parents and offer advice. The high point of this store it it's extensive stroller collection, including hard to find models that meet the unique needs of urban parents. Their "stroller experts" will help you select the perfect ride and you can even take them for a test drive. more

Nice Baby/Toy Shop 7/28/2005

This toy store is pretty new to Brookline’s Harvard Street, but boy is it great! It is filled with great toys for all ages and there is a lot to look at and choose from. It is similar in feel to Boing! In Jamaica Plain, with great toys that are not your everyday department store toys. They also specialize in baby gear, and have a knowledgeable staff who are willing to help you with your purchase. more
