Maggie Rose Couture Resale

I brought in two vintage Chanel bags, and one Rodo evening bag in perfect condition. Maggie told me they'd be on the shelves that day, and she would send me a check as soon as things sold. After two months I hadn't received any payment. I went in to pick up my items, assuming they hadn't sold. My items were gone.. she refuses to pay. I've since found out this is standard practice for her. I don't know why she is still in business. Cons: Maggie doesn't pay the people for items she sells. more

DO NOT SHOP OR SELL YOUR ITEMS HERE!!! The owner is a total scam artist! She brags all day about her celebrity clients and friends and how much money she has. I left about 15 pieces of all high end designers and 10 months later I have not seen a penny. As the other reviewers say, its EXCUSE after EXCUSE. I filed a report with the Better Business Burea only to find that she has 7 other reports against her. \r To make matters worse while at ""Ralphs"" which is down the street from the store, I ran into a lady who asked about a purse I happen to be carrying which I had purchased from another resale store that used to be in Sherman Oaks. We got on the subject of consignment shops and the lady told me that Maggie Rose had not paid her for any of the 40+ pieces she had left on consignment. She said that the owner had the nerve to tell her they were all donated because they didnt sell. \r \r If you dont want to get ripped off, do not bring your items here. You will never see a penny! As soon you walk into Maggie Rose you know you are going to find one of a kind, vintage pieces. Everything is in top shape, including the large collection of intricately beaded gowns. There are rare jewelry pieces and all kinds of hand bags from elaborate night time cluthes to everyday chanel, balenciaga, dior etc. I brought in 12 pieces with me to see what Maggie would sell and she was very open to work on pricing with me and loved all of my pieces. Within a 60 day time frame Maggie sold all of my pieces at the price I wanted and I am so happy to see that someone else will get good use out of my stuff!. I am already going through my collection again to see what else I can bring in to sell!! The best part is that I left with a pair of adorable Gucci boots and a Dolce and Gabanna cocktail dress! Her fur collection is enormous so I plan on spending another day in just that section... Pros: alert and knowledgable staff, clothing look brand new Cons: too much to choose from more

Maggie appears to be a really knowledgeable honorable business woman with a caring staff and makes things a lot of fun when you go there. However, if you contract to consign with her it's a total nightmare. She doesn't pay you for the things you've consigned, doesn't give an accurate accounting and stalls for months with EXCUSE AFTER EXCUSE AFTER EXCUSE. She has sold many of the items we consigned with her and have yet to see any money for them. That is stealing...pure and simple. There are over 7 serious complaints filed with the state agency on her, yet nothing has changed with the business practice. It appears that she trades mainly with the studios and has some sort of cache where she is invulnerable to the ramifications of deliberately misleading those who consign with her. For whatever reason she has been permitted to do business in this dishonorable manner, but the amount of people she's ripped off have had it, and in this economy, with all of the scoundrels being exposed, I don't imagine she will last much longer. Her things that she sells are top quality usually , and she charges top dollar and it all goes into her and her partners pocket. The sweet old man who's always there covering for her, we suspect is the real owner. Anyway, I wish we didn't have to report to folks that this is a scam shop..but it is. Maggie's is great for shoes, handbags and gowns when you have a black tie function and don't have thousands to spend. I've worn dresses and shoes from Maggies to the Oscars and Emmys. Maggie always helps, and more importantly...always deals. more

IF your looking for fabulous resale DON'T go here!!! WORST service..the owner just shows you pictures on the computer of herself 20 years ago!! The items that ARE priced are WAY over priced!! There is NOTHING professional about this store whats so ever!!! Its SO un-organized you can't find ANY sizes!! Do yourself a favor and drive to the westside!!! I consigned items to Maggie Couture and it was an awful experience. Maggie was unresponsive to emails. She hardly ever returned my phone calls. This was my first consignment experience and let me just say that I will not ever use Maggie Couture resale ever again. more

Have heard great things from friends about this gem in the Valley. The decor itself is worth the visit.For unique and memorable shopping experience- with a personal touch swing by. A family owned business\r which in this busy time should be appreciated. more

Fabulous Designers Bags at a great price!! You DON'T have to drive to Beverly Hills and pay ridiculous prices!! I have been to the store 3 times and always find a great bag and bargin. I found a vintage Chanel Jumbo bag for $1200 and they retail for $3000!! Must stop by ... there is also fab vintage clothing. Pros: Parking Cons: not open on sundays more

I went to Maggie Rose's because of the recommendations from Citysearch but I found the store did NOT live up to expectations whatsoever. The owner was extremely snide and was more concerned with talking about the 'celebrity' clients she claimed to have served. She commented that she only carried high end designer clothing from European designers but one look at the racks contradicted her statement. The store is cramped, the clothes are difficult to peruse through, and the staff was disappointing. The only thing I did appreciate was the jewelry selection, but it, like the clothing, was over priced. Pros: Parking Cons: Space, Staff, Selection more

This store is ""ok"". Its an average resale boutique. Found 1 or two nice pieces but nothing that great. About two years ago before the store was renamed (not sure why) I had dropped off two pieces of consignment which they sold, never go paid to date. I read the other reviews about Hermes bags, I have been there 2 times in the last two months and never saw one, maybe they hide them in the back??? All in all, its O.K. Stop by if in the area but not worth the drive. Go to Decades on Melrose instead for the real good stuff. Pros: parking lot Cons: its just an OK store. Nothing to write home about more

I don't enjoy shopping in a cramped environment, and I felt this store was very crowded. I didn't have a chance to peruse and enjoy the merchandise, because I felt as if every time I turned around, I was stumbling over something or someone. The staff was very snide and not helpful at all. There were a few beautiful things, but I wasn't terribly impressed with their selection -- especially the handbags. I think this store could be much more pleasant with a larger space or less racks. Pros: Decor Cons: Staff, crowded space more

I thought this place would be designer, more like knock-off central but the best part is that the prices are ridiculous for pit stains and toe jammed clothing and shoes. The bags cost more than the plastic they are worth. You never get paid at this place. you leave the stuff and get some story 6 months later about how they couldnt sell your stuff so they had to discount it, promise you $200 for something and you end up getting like $15 for it. Keep away if you are smart!! Pros: great if you love wearing knock-offs at real designer prices! Cons: The service, merchandise and staff!! more
