Break out the Ragu 11/16/2008

I can't fathom what folks that rate this place highly are thinking. Given the fantastic array of great neighborhood Italian options, why would you go to McItaly unless your tastebuds are on a siesta? To be more specific, the whole Maggiano's equation is off in my opinion. They attempt to overcome the quality issue with shear quantity - pounds and pounds of pasta smothered in bland sauces that could have come from a can. Couple this with long waits and chain store, suburban trendy decor, swirl and voila - you have a poor dining experience! The one positive thing that I can say is that the wait staff are uniformly excellent and highly attentive.\r \r Run, don't walk from Maggiano's Little Olive Garden!\r \r Pros: Service Cons: Food, Ambience more

The best food of all time.... 2/1/2007

One of the grattist resturants you have ever bine to. you will love this plass..................... Pros: thumbs up Cons: thumbs up more

Don't get the appeal 11/3/2006

Every time we visit we are reminded why we dislike it. The food isn't anything great, sure the portions are huge but thats just that much more bad food. The food is expensive. The wine list is safe with all the popular favorites and nothing new to try. The service is rushed. Don't order your meal too quickly, they love to bring it out while you are still working on your salad.\r \r There are so many great Italian places out there & we have no idea why none are in the Schaumburg area... hence the appeal of this place. Pros: It's Italian food Cons: Rushed service, expensive, long wait for table more

Do not go to Maggianos!!! 5/22/2006

I would have to say Ive been to Maggianos a lot in my day and I fear they are becoming a statistic of over franchising. It seemes when a restaurant franchises and become bigger and bigger the food gets worse and worse, (ie:Cheesecake factory). In short, the food was not fresh and cold, poor quality and an overall bad experience.... more

Busy atmosphere! 11/27/2005

On a Saturday, the wait was 2 hours long. The staff was really nice and apologetic about it. Our waitstaff was experienced and knew the menu. The appetizers were decent (tomato and mozzarella, mozzarella marinara). The entrees were delicious (chicken saltimbocca, chicken marsala). The portions were huge and tasted great as leftovers! This is the best Maggianos location in the Chicago area definitely. The entrees at the other locations are not prepared as well. Pros: Good entrees, big portions, free parking Cons: Crowded, Long wait, rushed more

We went to this resturant for my father in laws 60th birthday party and it was everything and more than we had hoped for. The Chicken Parmesan was the best we have ever had!!! It was very juicy!!!! We can't wait until we go back. Just remember when you plan on going go with a group of people to get the family style and don't forgot to make reservations. Pros: excellent food, wonderful service, good parking Cons: nothing more

just not as good 11/7/2003

I'm used to eating at the Tuscany in Wrigleyville. Maggiano's food is nowhere near as good. There portions are much bigger, but their prices are high as well. I've also been to quite a few italian restaurants in NYC's little Italy area. This isn't great italian food. Pros: location Cons: food, price more

magnificent!!! 11/8/2002

This restaurant is the most romantic and exquisite than them all! From the beautiful ceilings to the nice tables to the friendly atmoshere this is quite a place to be! The hosts treat you like a queen/king and all the waitresses and waiters are super nice and very beautiful!!! Pros: good looking crowd, 5 stars recommended, overall excellence more

The best Italian food 8/30/2002

By far the best maggiano's is in the Streets of Woodfield. For a chain restaurant, the food is extremely tasty. Of course, the wait is insane most of the time, at least two hours, so you better have some shopping to do while you wait. Tables outside overllok a small pond, very nice atmosphere. more
