I went to The Madison for lunch...not sure if the less experienced wait staff works during the day. We were one of just two other tables dining in this huge place but the service was still slow and apathetic.
The food was ok. I had the corn-breaded lobster sandwich. Didn't taste the lobster as much as I did the thick corn breading around it. Way too fried and greasy...and this is coming from someone who loves anything fried and greasy. The tomato-basil soup, which came highly recommended, was acidic. The surroundings, however, are beautiful. The restaurant occupies what was once a HUGE bank. There is an elegant bar, and from what I understand, live music at night. A lovely backdrop for a business lunch, a romantic evening or just a cocktail with friends...if the service and quality of the food improved, I would be a big fan.
Pros: Good neighborhood, Beautiful interior, Nice bar
Cons: Slow service, Expensive, Mediocre food
