This is the first time I've ever bought furniture (or much of anything) from Macy's. I found some bookcases that were just the size I was looking for and they were a better price than another set I was preparing to buy from a more expensive store. The salesman was overly aggressive, but they seemed to be a good price so I overlooked it. After I paid, the salesman was checking on the delivery and the department manager let me know they would not be able to deliver them for at least two weeks as they were 'busy with inventory'. This peeved me a bit. I was still unpacking (just moved to the area) and was in desperate need of the storage space. When they did call to schedule delivery, they told me they couldn't deliver on Saturday as they were picking these up from the store and not the warehouse. Why this is my problem, I don't know, but having just started a new job, I could not be home during the week . We made arrangements for them to leave the bookcases in the back yard. This stinks for me, but they would not accomodate my schedule, even after making me wait so long. Imagine my surprise when they were not delivered on the day promised. It took two days and several phone calls by me to find anyone to explain what happened. They made some sort of paperwork error it seems and the bookcases were never picked up from the store. It is now almost two weeks later and still no bookcases, just a lot of promises to call me back. I've called almost every day. Finally today they let me know they'd deliver them next MONTH. And still no Saturday option, despite the salesman's promise he would arrange it. I just want my money back. And will never ever buy from Macy's again. And I'd advise others not to as well. Spend the extra money and deal with professionals who care about their customers.
Pros: None that I can see
Cons: Lesser quality merchandise and horrible customer service
