Bigstore shopping 11/26/2007

When I lived in Davis, I would take the bus into downtown Sacramento just to go to Macy's. You would have too if the biggest department store you could visit locally was the JC Penney catalog shop 10 miles away. Okay maybe I exaggerated a little...it was more like 5 miles. But in LA...the land of new and shiny...Macy's is a little passe. You can get better deals on clothing at JC Penney...excellent quality bed/bath linens at Target...and true foodies are going to get their kitchen gadgets at William-Sonoma or Sur le Table. Macy's is just another run-of-the-mill department store. This location, being a former Broadway still has the dark and dingy look of the old store...despite attempts to brighten it up. Again, when I'm at the mall...I'll browse through the store but I rarely buy anything here. more
