Carlotta J.\r Our family would highly recommend planning your event at Machine Shed. We had an early Thanksgiving dinner for 35 people Planning was easy with the help of Shondra, the event coordinator. The banquet room looked great with white tablecloths We had a traditional Thanksgiving meal with turkey, dressing and all the trimmings. Was delicious!! Kids had a great time Nick, our server, was amazing! The whole event went smoothly The Machine Shed staff made our family meal a special occasion. Thanks to all of you!. more

We went there for breakfast on Saturday and they must have been short on staff. We waited 5 minutes to be seated and the waitress was very snippy. My mother is hard of hearing and the waitress was extremely annoyed because she had to repeat some things. I made a comment to her that she obviously did not have time to wait on us. Then she brought me a cup of hot water for tea with stuff floating in it! The food was very good, but not worth the inconvenience and aggravation! more

Fantastic Family Restaurant 12/5/2008

What a great place to bring your family for a fantastic night out! The service is exceptional, the food is reasonably priced and the portions are huge. One can taste the scratch cooking in everything on the menu from the appetizers (we ate their homemade Sheddar Melts) to the home made pies (which we took home for later on that night). To top it all off, they offer monthly cooking classes, a full retail area, and tractor rides for the entire family during the warmer months. Pros: Great for families or groups Cons: Never enough room at the end for pie more

Great food, Great service, Great prices 11/12/2007

Great environment, large portion sized food, and delicious! Lots of seating space, great service! Great prices. What more could you ask for?! Pros: Food, environment, service Cons: lighting was a little dark more

Unique Dining Experience 11/14/2006

When you walk in the door you are entering a small store of fun. You can get souveniers or things for your home like cookbooks and colorful drain stoppers. The wait is not generally long but you have something to do if you have to wait. The dining room has many antique decor, lining the walls. The servers are well informed and friendly. The dining experience is awesome. You get homemade breads, coleslaw and cottage cheese to snack on while you wait for you food. The smoked prime rib is most definately a good choice. It has a very distinct flavor that I have never seen anywhere else. The portions are plenitful and prices are more than reasonable. I have never made it to the desserts because the food was too good to save for later. Pros: menu, service Cons: lighting more

My Kids Love The Machine Shed! 6/7/2005

I just took my kids to the Machine Shed Last Sunday and they can't stop talking about it. When we arrived there was a short wait but I was amazed when we were offered a tractor ride while we were waiting. My kids had never even seen a real tractor let alone ride on one! After getting to the table the children were given crayons, a kids menu, and a real toy tractor to play with while they waited. The kids meals even came in green trailers to go along with the tractors they have been given. My whole family can't wait to go the the Shed again! Pros: Kid Friendly, Weekend Tractor Rides, Great Food Cons: A little dark, Busy, Short Wait more

My First Visit Will Be My Last 5/13/2005

This was possibly the worst restaurant I've ever been to. The service was non-existent -- I had to get up twice to find our server. My fried chicken salad was huge, but mostly full of brown lettuce that I would have thrown out of my own refrigerator weeks before. The chicken had been over cooked the day before and put in the fridge so it was cold and dry. The ambience was not even as nice as a real machine shed on someone's back 40. It made The Cracker Barrell look like a gourmet restaurant. Pros: Big Food, Plenty of Chatchkis, Big Parking Lot Cons: Food Quality, Poor Service, Tacky more

Worth The Drive 5/13/2005

At this nostalgic farm themed restaurant you will find something to satisfy everyone's palate. Just remember to save room for dessert. I reccommend the signature Apple Dumpling and add the cinnamin ice cream. They have a Friday All-You-Can-Eat Fish Fry, and Saturdays they feature smoked prime rib...or try some of their fabulous pork selections. The Parmesean Crusted America's Cut is my favorite. Everything is homemade, from the mashed potatoes and gravy to the 11 inch pies. And the brunch on Sunday mornings (8am-2pm) is amazing, and reasonably priced at $9.99 for adults. Swing by some time and check out their cute gift shop. They also have banquet capabilites and an awsome attached hotel. The Wildwood Lodge is a modern midwest hotel and an overnight stay also includes free breakfast at the Shed. Check it out, you won't be disappointed. Pros: Good Value, Great Service, Great for Big Groups Cons: Busy Sat and Sun AM, ?, ? more

Give it a Shot 5/22/2004

Let's face it, you can't get this much variety in a menu anywhere in the twin cities. If you are into meat and potatoes, (skip the potatoes and ask for the carb free menu if you prefer) this is the place. Comfortable, clean, friendly, good food, and plenty of it for the price. Try to avoid the busy times, 6-8 pm on friday and saturday, and 1030-1 on Sundays. Popular places have a wait sometimes although with nearly 450 seats in 3 dining rooms this place can move the wait along pretty quickly. My worst wait was on Mother's Day for the brunch and it was only about 35 minutes. I'd say give it a try! Pros: easy highway access, new hotel attached, neat gift shop Cons: , a little dark, too much food more
