This is one of the best docs in the area. One of the best priced also. He offers full medical access for $150/ year. Mine charges $1800/yr. They are the same quality of care. Insurance issue. Our whole family has gone to him since we moved here. About 30 years ago. My girls were in 3rd grade n one still goes to him and she's 40 plus her 15 year old son. I've never known him to prescribe drugs unnecessarily. Ever. He doesn't charge that much so the person above is ignorant. They should educate themselves better. Many people who have serious problems do take alot of medications. And it does sound as if the patient in this issue has serious problems or they wouldn't keep going or if they aren't able to make that choice then whomever wrote the review should have and have them see a specialist. I also love his sense of humor. If the other person can't handle a basic situation with a smile then you need to go elsewhere also. This doc is wasted on you. more

If you are a female, I would stay away from this M.D. During my pap test he made the comment that doing pap tests were his "favorite thing next to lancing very smelly boils". I wasn't amused, didn't think that was funny, and won't ever let that doctor touch me again. more

Dr. Mackell has been our Dr. for over 25 years. He is very thorough and asks lots of questions to make the correct diagnosis. I have never been disappointed in the care he has given. On more than one occassion he has called to check on sick children, which is pretty much unheard of in todays world of Drs.....I would trust his judgement anytime anywhere. Pennie Smith more

Dr mackall has been my Dr of and on for twenty years. I started seeing him when he was with Dr Salter> he is a down home Dr that pulls no punches and an exelent diagnostition. He diaged a rare blood disorder in my husband that everyone lse thought was hepititus. He only sends you to a pecalist if he can't handle it. I love him his bedside manner is like no other more

I have seen Dr. Mackell for twenty-five years and I can honestly only say good things about him. I suffer from multiple and severe health issues for some years now and the man is kindly and quick to explain what is going on. He is a consumate professional who lives, eats and sleeps DOCTOR. My pharmacist relates the tale of a man who picked up some really rare tropical disease--guess who diagnosed AND successfully treated said disease? Dr. Mackell! And while yes I am prescribed a vicious array of pills for my ills, and there are days that I hate them, that's the breaks. I'm also glad there are drugs available that can ameliorate the suffering of myself and countless others. He is a fine doctor. Really. Samuel C. more

Everytime my family member sees this doctor, he prescribes her yet another pill. Currently, she is taking about 67 pills per day, and that amount goes up every time I see her. Mr. Mackell is less of a doctor and more of a drug dealer. I've looked up some of the pills she takes, and many of them are SUGAR PILLS (that cost hundreds of dollars). Every time she sees this doctor, her health continues a downward spiral. If you have him as a doctor, I would seriously question his opinion on your health. He is a poor doctor who takes advantage of his patients for monetary gain. more

Dr Mackell saved my Dad's life about 6 years ago when he was persisitent in having tests doen until he found out why he was so sick all the time. Turns out he had a defective heart valve and had open heart surgery. Also just this year Dr Mackell found that my Husband had problems with his eyes and sent him to a specialist to have surgery. Had this not happened when it did my Husband could have gone blind very quickly. The office staff is quick to get you in when you need to be seen and everyone is knowledgable and helpful. more
