Mabenka Restaurant & Banquets

Just came back from a party at Mabenka's. Since I'm of polish heritage I must say the food was delicious, especially the golabki (stuffed cabbage). If I didn't know better I would have thought my mom was in the kitchen. I even ordered a few to take home. The salad was cold and fresh , the cucumber salad was perfect. Roasted chicken, beef, sauerkraut, Lithuanian sausage, chicken soup, dumplings all very good. What a feast. The serving girls where very pleasant and efficient. Dolly more

If you are looking for a great place to eat and crave Polish cuisine, check out Mabenka's restaurant. Recently I went there with a friend as this was the first time in awhile that I had dined at this location. We both ordered the Polish Special which included a breaded veal cutlet, dumplings, a link of smoked sausage, and sauerkraut....all were very tasty. In addition to the main course, you also got a soup (and/or salad), bread, and if you got the dinner you also got a dessert. For just over $9 apiece, this was well worth getting. Only thing to watch out is if you get soft drinks, there are no free refills like there are most places. This is in a good location too as its close to Ford City Shopping Mall near 79th and Cicero. more
