NOT BULGOGI!! 9/1/2011

Had lunch at Mama's, the worst bulgogi I have ever had; it was supposed to be marinated and bar b qued slices of meat; i believed they steamed the meat; horrible. this is supposed to be an authentic korean restaurant. I told the waitress her answer it is the chef, wtf? get someone to do it right. more

Smells like cigarette smoke 9/30/2010

I enjoy Koran food and this used to be a good place for it, but the cigarette smoke smell that came from the male waiter at this place made me loose my appetite. He was a very rude and seemed to have no idea what he was doing. I'm sure the food is still good, but I'll never know. The cigarette smoke seemed to be coming from in from the other room. It wasn't the charcoal I smelled. It was the cigarette smoke. Terrible. I won't be going back. It's a shame. more

Terrible service 5/11/2010

Went there with family. We were seated and no one came by to even give us menus. When waitress came, she informed us that our 5 year old and 3 year old cannot share a soda. When my wife asked for an extra cup, waitress told us there would be a dollar charge! This was the most rediculous thing I have ever heard. We were basically ignored from start to finish. Our uncooked BBQ were brought out and we sat there waiting for the small dishes and fire but it never came.Only when I flagged the waitress down to tell her that if she can't speed up the process we would have to leave did she finally bring us the fire so we can start grilling. While she tended other tables, we were completely ignored. She didn't come by for the rest of the night. Food was ok but the service pretty much was nonexistent. We will not be back! more

Best Korean food! 11/23/2009

I have been eating at Ma Ma's house for over 15 years. This place has delicious authentic Korean food! The lunch specials are the best deal. Some of my favorites are the Bulgogi and the Bi Bim Bap (but watch out for the hot sauce - it's very hot!) Pros: Delicious food!! Cons: Dinner is a little expensive more

Warning: No lunch specials on Sunday! 10/11/2009

First of all, the sign on the storefront says Korean _and_ Japanese food is served there. This is basically false. The only hint of anything Japanese in the entire menu was the Tempura appetizer--which is also standard Korean fare anyway. Pros: Unknown Cons: Only expensive dinner items on Sundays--even at 10AM more

Awesome lunch spot!! 7/15/2008

I work on the Eastside, so finding a good place for lunch isn't easy if you don't want fast-food. I went to Mama's House on a recommendation from a friend, and was really delighted. Why does it always seem that the tiny little hole-in-the-wall places are the best? Service was lightning quick and the lunch specials are great! For $5.99, you will definitely get full. And the presentation is superb. Lunch comes with four bowls of pickled vegetables to snack on along with your meal. I highly recommend the Bolgogi beef. A nice stack of thin-sliced, marinated beef with sauteed vegetables and some of the best fried rice I've had in Indy. I haven't yet been for dinner yet, but I can't wait to try the Korean grill. Pros: Service, Taste, Service, Cleanliness Cons: Dinner is a bit pricey. more

Great korean dishes, at home feel 11/24/2006

Good korean dishes. The pork saute is a nice treat to those seeking spicy dishes. Lunch specials are flavorful and are mostly under $10. In all, it's a great place to try Korean for the first of 500th time. Pros: flavorful food, many options Cons: location more

Great restaurant 5/17/2006

Great place to eat. I had never eaten at a Korean restaurant before so I was very pleased with Mama's House. Healthy food and lots of it. Super place to take the kids. I highly recommend this restuarant to anyone. more

ALWAYS FULFILLING! 8/16/2004

I was introduced to Korean food a year ago and I have loved it ever since. Talk about comfort food! We usually try to make it there twice a month and have never had a bad food or service experience. There are many items for vegetarians, meat eaters, whatever you like. I recommend any of the soups. They leave you full, but not in a fatty/greasy sort of way. Korean food is great for the health-conscious. One could be content enough with the little dishes of kimchee and vegetables they bring out before your meal (at no extra charge) Try to scallion pancake, you won't regret it! The staff is always friendly and provide great service. Pros: A lot for your buck, something for everyon, good service more

Korean 3/25/2004

Everyone should try a full Korean meal at least one time in their life. Mama's House is a perfect place to try this entertaining and healthy experience. You can cook it at your own table or order from a huge menu of prepared items. When you order a meal it comes with 10 to 15 small side dishes. The side dishes are tasty and unique to Korea. Mama's House let's you get free refills on rice and the side dishes, making it a great value. Pros: unique, value, tasty more
