Highly Recommended!! 1/29/2015

I live in Vancouver, but I went to the Gresham location and was beyond happy with the service I received! I went in for a squealing sound my car was making when I would put it in reverse. They were not able to duplicate the sound because the engine was too warm upon my arrival, however, they offered to stay a little late so I could bring my car in if I couldn't make it before they closed and they also offered to pay for a rental car for the next day so I could still go to work or run errands! I've had bad experiences with other companies but this one was exceptional! I have already recommended this company to other friends and I will definitely be going back for any additional issues. Even though they gave me a AAA discount with my card, they were still a little more expensive than when I'd prefer, but I'm beyond happy with their services. I have been taking my vehicle to MTA in Gresham for basic service for a few years now. They were the first shop I thought of when my vehicle began have bigger issues. A misdiagnosis led to a necessary yet ineffective to the issue I was encountering repair. John and the tech resolved the situation quickly, efficiently, and at no charge for the labor or part that was required to resolve the problem that had caused me to bring the vehicle for originally. I was in the market for a mechanic who was in walking distance to my house; so I tried MasterTech. When I got my car back, there was problem with the gas gauge; they graciously took it back and fixed it with in a 1 hour period. The gauge actually more stable than it originally was. I have found my new mechanics. more

A complete joke! 10/26/2009

I've taken my car to these guys twice, purely out of convenience as my car broke down and I can walk back home from their shop. Never again as both times they have charged me astronomical numbers for sensors that weren't even the root of my problem. I recently took it to them because my car wasn't turning over. I figured it was the starter but wanted them to look at it and get it running. They called back to say that I needed a new sensor and then it would turn over. This sounded funny to me but I eventually agreed. The next day they called to tell me it was ready so I went and picked it up. Who knows how they got it running but I made one stop at a convenient store and when I tried to leave, my car wouldn't turn over again. I called them and had it towed back to there shop where they finally acknowledged it needed a new starter. So after just paying $400 for a sensor I had to fork over another $230 for a starter. When I debated with the counter clerk his arrogance was ridiculous as he literally said, " I hope you don't think we'll give you this part for free, because thats not going to happen"? What nerve! The topper is once they finished and I was finally heading out the door, he had the audacity to tell me about two other problems with my car that needed addressed immediately. Did he think I'd say ok and let them start working on it? NEVER AGAIN and I recommend everyone else avoids this shady business!!! more

Additional charges 12/8/2007

The Service Writer told me That Diagnosing the problem on my car would be no charge if I had the repair done. I was charged $44.98 for diagnosing the problem in addition to the cost of repairs. I will not recommend them again. more
