MICHAELS

I have been a fan of Michael's since high school, longer than I would like to admit! They really have a huge variety of craft stuff here from the latest trendy crafts, to tried and true standbys, huge wedding and floral sections and their frames department. I adore their cardmaking supplies and could easily blow hundreds of dollars there on their incredible stickers and papers. They have a good yarn section, if it is a bit chaotic. Their floral area is always intriguing. And this is odd, but the one on Brown Deer always smells like cinnamon sticks, which I find to be very pleasant. But the scent does permeate the whole store and I can never figure out if it's a product or what. If you are sensitive to scents then you should probably know this. It's like a special crafty scent. more

This is a good place to go for your arts and crafts supplies. They sell a bit of everything in here. whether your craft is in pottery, painting, knitting, scrapbooking, or whatever. You will probably find here. I get my supplies for stained glass making in here. They also have a really good frame shop. I had a new frame made for a painting I brought back from Germany. They did an excellent job on it. And I am very pleased. If you don't have a craft hobby you should stop by. There is always a sign up sheet where you can pay to take a class and learn something new and different. more

We stopped by here planning to get a picture framed by their framing department, but decided to look around the place isntead. WHat do you know, they had an excellent selection of do-it-yourself frames in the store. We were able to have a variety of options and eventually settled on one. The customer service was fine, although there can get to be pretty long lines. Especially around or after the holidays it can get crowded because of all the good deals. more
