Terrific food, nice atmosphere, but I have rarely seen service as rude... The maitre d' was unnecessarily snobby, and the waiter was much the same. A real disappointment in terms ...

What a treat 2/4/2003

Took my boyfriend for a fancy dinner on our trip to Boston last summer. Food was terrific, ambience graceful without snobbishness, and the service was good. I did feel like we were shunted slightly because of our age (early 20s) and that seems to happen at many a restaurant but all in all it was a terrific dining experience and we will certainly go back on our next trip to MA. more

still hungry 9/29/2002

Food was good - but not a great value in terms of quantity vs. cost. The salad we ordered were a few leaves of greens ..the salmon was pricey and a very tiny portion came in a large plate. Theplace is a room decorated by white sheets of cloth hanging ..not too imaginative. was advised to make reservations and guarantee by credit card - but as we sat for our entire meal, 40% of the place was empty. A bit on the snobby side I'd say.. Pros: upscale, clean, good food Cons: tiny portions, snobby atmosphere more

Tremendous tastes 8/6/2002

The menu has wonderful choices - steak tartare, seared scallops, chilled corn soup with crabmeat, Niman Ranch steak, foie gras, and more. Our server suggested a tasting menu so we could sample them all as well as some surprises. Perfect food, deep and lingering tastes, and perfect service. A well chosen wine list complements the food and vice versa. Save room for dessert - the chocolate thing and the rhubarb napoleon with creme fraiche are killer! more
