Lulu's Noodle Shop & Satay Bar

Was at Lulu's Noodles last night and it was one of the worst experiences ever. Service -- non existant. And there was practically no one in the restaurant. Had to actually go find a server to place an order. Then the server disappeared -- dropped food off at table -- no utensils, no refills on the most watered down iced tea ever. And the Pad Thai -- I can still taste the salt and can't figure out how to get it out of my mouth. Won't ever return.....and will tell everyone what a bad experience I had. \r \r What happened!?!?!?!? I have to give it at least one star -- but that star is on ly becasue the system required it. more

So, I love a good international meal just like you. Spicy, tangy, tropical, lush--all that good stuff. I like it when a tasty morsel sweeps me away to...somewhere other than KC, know what I mean? The Green Curry is great. But that's about it. The Pad Thai is so embarrassing that I may never even go back for the Green Curry. Lulu's USED to be a hot spot. Now it's just a run of the mill ""has been"". The recipes have changed and not in good way. The Pad Thai literally tasted like fish and salt; completely unappealing. This is a fun hip place. Love the atmosphere and the people are nice. Too bad I dont live here or I would be at Lulus all the time. I am actually gonna miss it.....Love the food and drinks! Only order Blazing if you can handle super hot....I can barely handle regular hot there.... Pros: Great food and fast service Cons: nada more

Wow. The atmosphere of Lulu's is charming, hip, and comfortable. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable and the food came out lightning fast! I got the Wild Mushroom Curry with tofu and absolutely loved it. It's packed with veggies and a good variety of mushrooms and just enough spice. My server on this visit was Crystal, she was attentive and funny amidst the chaos of the midweek lunch rush. This is a great place, check it out! Pros: Service, food, ambiance, character Cons: I did have to move my car or it would be towed. Don't park in the Shiraz lot! more

I got there about 45mins before they closed and the server Crystal could not have been less attentive. Even the couple that walked in after me had to ask for water and their bill. I was excited to try this place out. On a good friend's recommendation I ordered the Blazon Wok Bowl w/beef. I thought by ordering it ""Med Hot"" it would be somewhere between mild and hot?med hot. My food came out promptly which made up for the wait to place my order. When I saw the steaming hot bowl heavily decorated with dark green jalapeno slices I thought, oh! These are the kind of peppers that aren't hot. I was wrong. After blowing my nose incessantly at the table, (I actually had to go to the bathroom twice to wash my hands), sweating, and my lips feeling like they were ""blazing,"" I realized I couldn't taste anything I was eating. I am Hispanic so I can take a little lot, but I counted 20, yes 20 slices were in this lunch bowl!!! I like hot, but damn! Not that hot. Just to be sure I asked Crystal...hey Crystal....hey, over here Crystal, for the menu, just to see if I had somehow missed the recommendation of ordering this dish with a fire extinguisher...nope, not there. If you need a good detox, hurry, get to LuLu's!! more

I travel a lof for business and I spent 10 years on the West Coast where you find lots of authentic Thai, not the 'americanized' stuff you find in many Chinese restaurants, etc. My friends took me here during a visit when i was in KC on biz; the flavors were amazing to me! Never had I expected to find decent Thai food anywhere in the Midwest. Next time back in town, I made sure I went to Lulu's again and had the same wonderful experience. If only there was a way for them to expand the menu. (sigh)\r \r The food is terrific, the service is fast AND friendly - awesome, eclectic and FUN staff - and the atmosphere lends itself to a good time. I am moving to KC in August and I think this will be the place I ask a few friends to take me for my ""Welcome to KC"" dinner! I love this place and plan on being a regular! I really like this place! The food is great and available for takeout. Plus, personally I think it tasts much better as leftovers since the spices have had a chance to sink in. Definitely worth the drive.. more
