Luigi's is a northeast Ohio tradition--far better than the much ballyhooed "east side" restaurants in Cleveland The menu is limited, the food is hearty, portions are, for the most part, generous You do have to wait in line, sometimes more than 30 minutes The place is always busy The waitresses are all very, very nice Some of them have been there over twenty years It is a fun place to go
The problem here is the kitchen The food is inconsistent Sometimes it is fantastic Sometimes there are real problems The kitchen help is unstable; there is a constant turnover Sometimes you wonder ""what the h*** are they doing in there?" Your server will try to make amends if you have a problem, but be prepared for a long wait to rectify a problem
Don't let the kitchen incompetency scare you away Usually the food is good
Go here with the right attitude It is not "The Ritz" but a wholesome, unique place to eat and not part of a bland, mediocre, overpriced chain
