Lucas, Laura E, Md - Town Center Gynecology

I have seen many doctors, and Dr. Laura Lucas is the only doctor I trust. She delivered both my children and continues to be my dr for gynecology. I have other health issues and she knows a lot about my other health issues and medicines (even though they are out of her field) and she knew side effects of medicine that my primary doctor didn't even know. I never have to wait long, and she and the main nurse and office manager are always very professional. Dr. Lucas sits down with you after the exam and discusses everything with you. Years ago she had other doctors working with her that weren't that great, and I believe she also had a few LPN nurses from a ""used to be on welfare but had to go back to work"" sour attitude, but they all disappeared a couple years ago. Maybe this is what the previous writer was talking about, but try Dr. Lucas again now--things have changed for the better! Pros: very intelligent and compassionate Cons: doesn't deliver babies any more more

I have to disagree with the earlier review. \r Dr. Laura is absolutely wonderful. She is a little no-nonsense, but very professional and empathetic. Her staff has always been professional during my visits there and I have been a patient for about five years. I have recommended her to friends and they are always very pleased.\r more

If you are thinking of trying this ob then turn and run to Somerset OB in Troy. I used to go to dr. Laura Lucas for years. I was always treated so rudly by the staff and waited for at least 45 min before seeing anyone. Once I decided to try and have children I was told by the dr. that she would not help me for at least a year. Knowing something was actually wrong I went to Somerset ob in troy and was treated by an infertility specialist. THANK GOD for them since I needed a ton of help. I can't believe I put up with such poor service and rude nurses for so many years. Happilly, I am now a proud mama. Cons: rude nurses more
