Lowe's tends to lean more toward the home and garden decor and upkeep areas than toward the nuts, bolts and sawdust of Home Depot.
It's a pretty good source for run-of-the mill items, but don't expect them to carry an obscure light bulb or parts for an outdated plumbing fixture. The store is usually very clean, but as with Home Depot, there are never enough cashiers and the lines tend to be long at certain times of day.
It's very convenient to have Lowe's here at last, but many small items like batteries or cleaning supplies can be found for a lot less elsewhere.
