I was thinking the Lowe's in-store pick-up might be a good idea. It looks good on their web site: select what you want, pay for it, and just drive by and pick it up. Lowe's is a very difficult place for me to shop with kids. Two things happen: 1) it takes a long time to get around and it's not any too interesting for kids and 2) I need relative calm to figure out what I'm buying. I go in to the store thinking I'm pretty confident but then, once there, I get overwhelmed by choices.
So I spent some time figuring out what I wanted online, had everything in my online cart, said I would pick it up at the store, and I received an error message that dumped my cart. It didn't even empty my cart into a wait-list or wish-list or something like that. It dumped the whole darn cart, so I didn't even remember exactly which products I'd chosen (after agonizing between various grass seed and weed killers). And even if delivery were available, I'd probably be too cheap to pay for that poundage of delivered items. And really, I didn't have the trust needed to make the decisions and refill my cart.
