We have a lab mix and usually bathe and groom her ourselves, but we decided to take her to the groomer now that it's cold and we can't wash her outside. I had read the good reviews here for this groomer and since it's close to my house we decided to try it. When I made the appt. I was told a bath was $10, but when I got there I decided to have her nails done too. It was my fault for not asking how much that would be, but it ended up being $30 for just a bath and nails, which I think is ridiculous, but I didn't say anything because my dog seemed happy and looked nice. Also, I thought it was unprofessional because one of the groomers was eating a candy bar while she groomed a dog! Not only is that kind of gross, but it's mean to eat chocolate right in front of a dogs face! \r

Well, two days later my dog has a respiratory infection with a fever and is covered in flea bite scabs. She has never had fleas in her life, even when we got her from the shelter as a puppy. Luckily we give her Frontline monthly so the fleas died right away and we haven't seen any in the house, but my baby still has to suffer with these itchy bites and we paid over a $100 in vet and medicine bills. I wouldn't be so quick to blame the groomer, but we didn't take our dog anywhere else during that time period. Needless to say we will be bathing her at home from now on.
