This wonderful Greek restaurant, is officially my favorite restaurants in Astoria NY. The food is fresh, and very satisfying.

Best Greek food in Astoria - and don't miss the patio!! 10/18/2010

I had dinner here with a large group of friends this weekend to celebrate my sister's birthday and it was INCREDIBLE! Things you must try on the menu: ouzokeftedes midia saganaki (mussels) ikoumeniki salad the fava!!!! loukaniko ANYTHING out of the clay pots - my fave was the pastichio The owner even came by to check on us and make sure everything was ok. Oh and if the weather permits, request seating on the outdoor patio. Incredibly charming and makes you feel like you're back in Greece! Hands down my favorite place for Greek food in Astoria. Well done Loukoumi!! more

Finally I went to this lovely restaurant, from the owners or managers to the waitress they really want to let you feel that you're more than welcome to enjoy a real Greek food and excellent service. The price for appetizers was an average of $8 to $10 and entree seafood for $22, the Greek house wine was very good fand they we're very generous to sent me just before the check another one order free of charge. I must said this place is perfect to eat quality food in old fashion Greek way.. more

I went here after a particularly stressful day so my memory of it is a bit shorter than it tends to be at other times. The Loukoumi Taverna offered us a nice outdoor table and some really great lunch special options. I chose the Fried calamari which I thought were not only delicious but so plentiful I could not finish them. That pained me since those tasty meaty fish died for me and it was too hot to bring them home for later, which I guess in the case of fish is a good thing. Our sides of beets, horta and lemon potatoes proved to be quite the challenge for us and again we left too much to waste. :((( I have every intention of going back to experience the atmosphere that I was oblivious to and have those fried calamari again. But this time I will make sure not to eat for a week before going as the portions are that plentiful and very good value for the price. I highly recomend Loukoumi Taverna Restaurant loukoumi-taverna_718-626-3200 more
