Overview
In 1999, 55 acres along the Ohio River were dedicated to the city of Louisville. The Riverwalk is a fantastic seven-mile path along the river, perfect for walking, running, biking or in-line skating; it stretches from Fourth Street Wharf to Chickasaw Park at the city's west end. In the summer, boats dock at the wharf for water-bound concert seats.
The Experience
The Great Lawn is the place to go for summer concerts like the Festival of Funk and Rockin' at Riverpoints, and festivals like the Independence Day showcase. Any day of the week, people are picnicking in the grass, playing Frisbee or swingin' and slidin' in the children's playground. You'll find anyone and everyone trying to soak up sun, catch some free tunes or just enjoy the scenery.
