Horrible experience 7/8/2010

This business should be AVOIDED! Worked with Inez. Horrible! She promised my wedding gown would be completed in two weeks (I brought in in two months before my wedding for two very small changes: add a bussel and shorten the straps). Several times she did not show up to our scheduled ""fittings"" (which were unnecessary...but she wanted to be sure I didn't ""gain weight"" before my wedding day). I am comfortable with my body and was not concerned about gaining weight...but each time she saw me she was very concerned about this. Very long story short....she did not touch my dress until the week of my wedding!!!! She had TWO MONTHS, but didn't even begin until my wedding planner went in and pressured her to complete it. Even still, thread was hanging down ... very poor workmanship. Very rude/insulting employees, very overpriced, items were not completed on time (but rather almost two months late), and she was not apologetic at all....simply continued to be rude. Also for two small changes (bussel added and straps shorted less than an inch) I was charged $160.00!!!!!! I asked why the price was so high and she said: ""Because I don't like dealing with you brides."" (and then laughed, while I stood there shocked) I asked what the typical prices would be and she said (I AM NOT KIDDING): ""whatever I want it to be."" I was so stunned, I didn't even know what to say. I am typically a very quiet person...but I left there so upset and angry, I felt compelled to let others know how horrible it was! DON'T USE LOUIS CUSTOM TAILOR!!!!!! Cons: poor workmanship, items not completed on time, rude tailor more

INFURIATINGLY SHOCKING 6/29/2010

I don't normally write reviews, but felt compelled to write one after my horrific experience w/ Louis Custom Tailor in SRQ.\r \r Words can't describe!\r \r I bought a beautiful chiffon wedding gown for our destination wedding Feb. 27th! I took my wedding gown to Inez at Louis Custom Tailor because a very good friend of mine recommended her... \r \r My first ""fitting"" w/ my gown w/ Inez was mid-OCTOBER of 2009... I didn't get my gown back from her until, I kid you not, 3 DAYS BEFORE WE GOT ON THE PLANE FOR OUR WEDDING! Thank god I didn't need to get it cleaned before our wedding EH!? I specifically informed her on our very first consultation that I wanted my gown done at least 3 weeks prior to my wedding so that I could get it cleaned (not to mention have piece of mind that my WEDDING GOWN was safe & sound). So, she knew this from the getgo.\r \r Keep reading...\r \r As if THAT wouldn't give any bride a heart attack, the entire experience w/ Inez was downright frustrating, infuriating & SHOCKING... Not only did she have me come in NUMEROUS times for a ""fitting"" (all of which were completely pointless too btw, as we were VERY thorough the very first fitting as to what needed to be altered, how much to cut off the length, what type of bussle I wanted, etc.)... Each time I went in there for my next ""fitting"", I would notice that not a d*mn thing had been done to my gown! NOTHING! She hadn't been working on my gown at all, it just hung there in her shop between October & February... \r \r The professionalism is a joke! I've never seen anything like it. Sure she is sweet as can be, and a very nice lady... But, if I had to count how many times she chatted on her cell phone with her son WHILE we're in the middle of my ""fitting"", or made me sit there & wait for her because she was on the other phone chatting with her husband, I couldn't tell you!\r \r She had me come in THREE times because ""my gown was finished"", only to get there & it wasn't finished, and she ""meant to call me because I wasn't able to finish it afterall today"" (Did I mention I drive 45 min. EACH WAY to go to her shop?!) She also knew what a drive it was for me from the start too... Very considerate of her wouldn't you say?\r \r I will never go back to her or take another strip of cloth to them to have alterations done, it just isn't worth the headache & frustration!\r \r The tipper of the iceburg (and the main reason I decided to leave this review) was the night I went in to pick up my gown, hoping/praying it really WAS done this time (3 days before I leave for my wedding mind you), I showed up at around 5:30 p.m., only to find SHE STILL HADN'T HEMMED THE BOTTOM OF THE DRESS!!!!!!!!!!! It had just been CUT, no hem, nothing!!!!!! So, I sat there until 9:30 at night with her watching her hem my gown so I could finally take it home & start packing for my trip... I sat there in near tears, and she actually looked at me like she had NO idea what my problem was, or what the big deal was. She even laughed & made jokes to try & lighten my mood!!! Let's see, you had my gown for more than FOUR MONTHS, and after ""fitting"" after ""fitting"" (& let's not forget the 3 times she told me my gown was done & to come pick it up) you didn't even get the hem done until 3 days prior to leaving for my wedding, I wonder why I was in near tears!\r \r Nearly $300 dollars later, a LOT of gas money, frustration & panic, I finally had my gown 3 days before we left for our wedding.\r \r Any bride out there will totally understand where I'm coming from ;) Cons: TOO MANY TO LIST more

HORRIFIC 5/21/2010

HORRIFIC!!! nearly $200 for a suit alteration, it took over six weeks for them to complete and after requesting that the money be refunded and the suit returned, the $2500 suit was not on the premises and taken home by a person who was not an employee of the store. The employees were dishonest, argumentative and unethical. AVOID at all costs. Pros: Single attractive employee Cons: Overpriced, 6 weeks for a suit to be tailored more

Terrible 6/9/2009

Very disappointing experience. Poor customer service (if I'm being blunt, very rude employees/tailors), shoddy workmanship, high prices, items were not ready when promised (and no call was made to inform me of the delay, I showed up as scheduled to pick up my items and was told 'I haven't touched them yet! hahaha' as though something was funny about being unprofessional::NOTE:: this same thing happened three times), and very disrespectful/inconsiderate... on more than one occasion, the tailor did not show up for my fitting appointments (I had to take off work to arrive on time, and the tailor did not show up...which to me, showed a disrespect for my time). Overall, I would NOT recommend this tailor for any purpose. I had a terrible experience and have spoken with other people who have had poor experiences with this business as well. Once I did finally receive my items, the workmanship was very poor and one of the hems had thread hanging from it (looked unfinished). Pros: Location Cons: Poor customer service, untimely, poor workmanship, etc more
