One step inside the door of this strip mall sushi joint and you know you are in for a treat. This is the best sushi I have ever eaten! The presentation was amazing; wasabi shaped and detailed to look like leaves, rolls dusted with real gold flakes, ginger and turnip molded and delicately cut into flowers, carrots transformed into Butterflys. It was almost too pretty to eat! The flavor and freshness rival the appearance! The sashimi tuna melted in my mouth like butter, no joke - it was wonderful! Ample parking in a lot that is very well lit, lots of bar seating, peaceful atmosphere, and a wonderful, friendly, and authentic staff. The extensive menu was not limited to sushi and caters to all. I could probably even find something that my two year old would eat here! Look closely, it is in the Kroger parking lot and could easily be missed. It's located beside the Kroger, so it was kinda hard to find. I didn't expect a Sushi Bar to be there. I like the fact that it's really traditional, and Japanese owner/main chef is a plus. Presentation is great! specially the Boat-dinners. People stare when I order this, and I relish it. ha!\r Fish is really really fresh. I'm kind of a stuck up with my Sushi, and their selection (they carry the rare stuff like, Uni-sea urchin, or Toro-fatty tuna, Live Scallop, Ama Ebi-sweet shrimp. hurrah!) was just awesome. I can deal with the fast-to-go sort of stuff like Ru-Sans, but sometimes I crave for real, sit-down sort of place that's genuine Sushi.\r They have great rolls. My favorite: Godzilla. I love Lotus! Any time I am craving sushi I head here. The fish is incredibly fresh and the variety of rolls are awesome. The dinner for two is a great value but overall the place is very reasonably priced. The waitresses are attentive and timely as well. You have to give this place a try-you won't be disappointed! If you would like to try real Japanese sushi, come to Lotus Sushi Bar and order nigiri-sushis with your favorite fish. I am Japanese and I garantee that the chef's sushi is genuine sushi. Beautiful and delicious!! Try it!! more

I was skeptical about this restaurant at first. It took the place of Sotto which I have always thought was overrated and the service was slow and not very welcoming. But much to my surprise LOTUS is GREAT!!! The waitresses are nice and very open to suggesting items that are special ""not on the menu"" items. The sushi was very fresh and unlike its snooty predecessor, you can actually place a later order if you want more. I've been a huge fan of MF Sushi since it opened and while Lotus may not have the same chic ambiance, the sushi matches the quality of MF. GO EAT HERE! You WON'T be disappointed!!! YUM!
