My rating for Lossman Eye Care in Carpentersville would be 0 out of 5 stars if I was able to choose that. I had a terrible experience that remains unresolved after 3 months. \r

I went to Lossman because I live right down the street and will try to support local business whenever I can. I simply needed a new pair of glasses. As mentioned in another review, the office is dirty and poorly arranged. While waiting to be seen by the doctor, I noticed that the employees were totally indiscreet about discussing medical information and financial information with patients in the office and on the phone. They shouted out ID numbers and charges/payment info. One positive comment I have is that the doctor I saw was friendly and fast. \r

After picking out a pair of frames, the employee (Maria) took my payment and said she would call when they came in. She also informed me that the frames were discontinued, so if I were to damage them, I would have to choose a new pair of frames. I agreed to this. \r

After two weeks of not hearing from Lossman, I called the office and asked if my glasses were in. They had been in for some time, and the employee said that someone else should have called to inform me. When I went to pick them up, the glasses were in a bag in pieces. They had to be sent back to the lab for assembly. I was promised a rush delivery. On this occasion, I witnessed two other patients leave the office with unresolved issues.\r

Over the next five weeks, I phoned/went in to the office on a weekly basis to determine the status of my eyeglass order, but was never able to get a straight answer or get access to a manager. I was alternately given responses of ""they are still at the lab, we will call you when they come in"" or ""you'll have to talk to the person who took your order, she is not in the office today."" \r

Finally (five weeks from my initial appt), I went in to cancel my order and ask for a refund. Amazingly, the glasses were in the office again and assembled, however they had been damaged during assembly and were unwearable. How long they sat in the office without my notification of their damage will remain a mystery. I was promised a refund, but another 2 months later, have nothing to show. I visited the office with the name and number of a small claims attorney and our local BBB office this afternoon. \r

I highly caution anyone of using Lossman Eye Care in C'ville for their vision needs. I am in the customer service field and I am outraged by the employees' lack of attention and outright ignorance. The length of time that my issue has gone without so much as a phone call from their office is unbelievable. I would not even try another of the area Lossman offices because if they allow one of their locations to treat patients like this, I do not want to give them my business.\r

The associates in the office were extremely unprofessional in their conduct with me and in their eagerness to blame each other. I have never experienced such a complicated and drawn out situation with a medical office. I will soon be filing a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau.
Cons: Poor service, no callbacks, lack of ownership of errors
