I had heard that Lorene's cakes were delicious so thought I would order one for my child's party. I live 45 minutes away but thought, It's probably worth the drive! First, I called and told her I wanted to order a cake; she asked me to hold and I was on hold for *seven minutes* long-distance before I simply hung up. I called back a few hours later and started off by asking several questions, but her answers were very curt and rude, as if I were wasting her time. What happened to customer service?! The way to catch and keep a customer is by being friendly!! She treated me like I was an idiot, and I am not - I did finish a BA at Carolina!!! For example, she asked what flavor I wanted on the inside of the cake. I worried that having a dark filling would interfere with the way the cake looks on the outside, and I asked her about it; she sighed loudly and said, "What kind of filling do you want on the inside, ma'am?" I was so shocked I could not speak for a moment! I went out of my way to be kind and courteous in response to her questions but when I hung up the phone I was shaking! I don't care if her cakes are so delicious that they are worth a thousand dollars; I would not order from her simply because of her rudeness today.
